ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS:
Inspecting, repairing and maintaining automobiles, trucks, tools and specialized equipment.
Inspects, diagnoses problems and repairs automobiles, trucks and other equipment;
Rebuilds engines, motors, differentials and hydraulic assemblies; repairs front ends and drive trains;
Troubleshoots equipment to determine cause of problem; makes necessary repairs;
Orders required parts and supplies; performs metal fabrication and welding tasks;
Replaces transmissions, bearings, gears, clutch assemblies;
Installs water pumps, radiators, batteries, brakes and other equipment;
Replaces hydraulic lines on equipment;
Performs tune-ups on cars, tractors, trucks, mowers, weed eaters, etc.;
Performs preventive maintenance changes fluids, filters, etc.;
Adjusts carburetors; changes air filters;
Performs electrical work on automotive equipment such as repairing or replacing alternators, starters, lights, wiring;
Performs related tasks as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Thorough knowledge of the methods, tools and equipment used in the repair of automotive passenger cars, trucks, construction and maintenance equipment; thorough knowledge of and skill in the use and operation of shop tools and machinery; ability to detect by inspection any worn or broken automotive parts; ability to adapt available tools and repair parts to specific repair problems; ability to interpret and work from sketches, diagrams and installation and repair charts; ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, and a minimum 5 years experience in repairing automotive and power driven equipment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
ASE Certification preferred. Possession of a valid Class B CDL valid in the State of Ohio with air brake endorsement (Class A preferred). Good driving record. Personal tool inventory valued at $5,000 and available to be used in this position. Subject to pre-and post-employment drug testing.
This position includes a $1500 annual tool allowance .

Diesel Mechanic Position Summary:
This position is required to safely and accurately perform general property and vehicle maintenance & repair duties in and around the shop operations in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge and understanding basic preventative maintenance and repair techniques of Class 5 through Class 8 commercial vehicles to include tank trailer inspection and maintenance related to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations is required.
Diesel Mechanic Essential Functions:
All fleet mechanic positions will be required to perform vehicle maintenance & repair duties safely and accurately in and around the shop operations in a fast-paced environment.
Fleet Mechanic Apprentices will receive hands on training and instruction on preventive maintenance/inspections/repairs of Class 5 through Class 8 Commercial Vehicles and maintenance/inspection of tank trailers.

The Truck Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on all mobile equipment used throughout the Forge Shop and facility. General Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on electric, diesel, and gasoline-powered forklifts and industrial trucks, using manuals, diagrams, and standard mechanical practices.
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and power-transmission systems on mobile equipment.
Conduct preventive maintenance (PMs) on forklifts, material handlers, tow motors, and all relevant mobile equipment to minimize downtime and support Forge Shop operations.
Read work orders, observe equipment performance, and identify malfunctions to determine repair procedures.
Repair or replace components, including brakes, steering systems, ignition systems, drivetrains, engines, batteries, and hydraulic lines.
Lubricate moving parts, adjust safety devices/guards, and verify proper equipment operation after repairs.
Fabricate or modify equipment components, brackets, or attachments when necessary, using welding equipment and tools.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, parts usage, and completed work.
Support overall Maintenance team activities, including assisting with shop work and responding to equipment emergencies.

The Valley View location functions in a machining environment that is climate-controlled with air conditioning:
Set up and operate, in an efficient timely manner, a wide range of machine tools, both CNC and manual such as grinders, mills, lathes, and hones on a diverse range of products involving difficult operations, aerospace tolerances, and complex shapes. Machines used at Valley View include HAAS vertical mills, Toyoda Grinders, Accuturn, Prodigy, Hardinge, and HAAS lathes.
Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
Work from and read blueprints as well as setting and checking work to various quality control gages.
Monitor product quality and troubleshoot to determine causes of operating errors and make decisions to solve any errors.
Confer with engineering, supervisory, or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
Understand written instructions and be willing and able to communicate those instructions to others
Read process instructions and drawings and recognize/attend to details
Participate in customer audits and complete the Certified Operator Program (COP), DVV's intensive, skills-based validation and training program.
Audit processes to ensure compliance with quality practices and work instructions throughout the facility

**Job Summary:**
DuPont is seeking a Machinist for our **climate-controlled with air conditioning site in** Valley View, OH site!
**We're offering a $500 sign-on bonus and a $500 bonus after 90 days for this position!**
**Pay scale:** **$29.18 - $35.62**

The site is in Valley View, Ohio south of Cleveland. near Interstate 77, Interstate 480, and the Ohio Turnpike The facility employs about 135 people and manufactures compression molded, close tolerance-machined composite parts for major aerospace, commercial, and military aircraft engine manufacturers worldwide.
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be flexible, adaptable, dependable, reliable, and able to adjust to various challenges (such as changes to schedule, work environment, materials, and tooling). Machinists must possess solid communication skills (i.e., oral, written, and listening) be detailed oriented, and have good organizational skills. Associates must be self-motivated, and able to work independently or in a group environment.
**Primary Duties & Responsibilities:**
The Valley View location functions in a machining environment that is climate-controlled with air conditioning:
+ Set up and operate, in an efficient timely manner, a wide range of machine tools, both CNC and manual such as grinders, mills, lathes, and hones on a diverse range of products involving difficult operations, aerospace tolerances, and complex shapes. Machines used at Valley View include HAAS vertical mills, Toyoda Grinders, Accuturn, Prodigy, Hardinge, and HAAS lathes.
+ Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
+ Work from and read blueprints as well as setting and checking work to various quality control gages.
+ Monitor product quality and troubleshoot to determine causes of operating errors and make decisions to solve any errors.
+ Confer with engineering, supervisory, or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
+ Understand written instructions and be willing and able to communicate those instructions to others
+ Read process instructions and drawings and recognize/attend to details
+ Participate in customer audits and complete the Certified Operator Program (COP), DVV's intensive, skills-based validation and training program.
+ Audit processes to ensure compliance with quality practices and work instructions throughout the facility
+ Monitor production processes and control product processes, obtaining samples, and loading products.
+ Operate mobile transport equipment.
+ Facilitate corrective and preventive action related to supplier quality problems and source inspection issues. In the process, machining associates will issue stop tags/hold tags where conditions warrant.
+ Maintain quality metrics to facilitate positive, proactive operational change, Associates may be required to analyze non-conformance data, escapes, and other sources of data as well as identify continuous improvement opportunities that help drive the DVV Continuous Improvement plan, when appropriate.
**Education & Experience:**
Required:
+ High School Diploma/GED.
+ 2+ years of machining experience OR a Machining Technology certificate.
+ Willing and able to work any shift based on the specific site requirements.
+ Willing and able to work overtime (including weekends, evenings, and holidays) as needed.
+ Knowledge of basic math.
+ Experience in machining composites, metals, and or aluminum extrusions.
+ Ability to read CNC programs.
+ Demonstrated ability to set up and operate manual and CNC equipment.
+ Proficient in shop math, including geometry and conversions.
+ Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and understand tolerance.
+ Demonstrated ability to use precision gages.
+ Knowledge of FANUC controls.
+ Excellent problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred:
+ 3+ years of machining experience.
+ CNC machinist certification.
+ Knowledge/experience in Statistical Process Control.
