The Automotive Technician will be responsible for maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. These vehicles' propulsion systems include diesel, gasoline, and alternative technologies such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electrical in some locations. Automotive Technicians must be skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls. Before you apply, watch this video to learn helpful tips for completing an application at Pinal County: Application Tips JOB SUMMARY Perform journey-level skilled service, maintenance, and repair work on automotive and related equipment. * Perform skilled preventive maintenance, repairs and adjustments on County Fleet vehicles, in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures under basic supervision. * Diagnose and repair components for electrical, electronic, fuel supply, hydraulics, and cooling systems. * Determine extent of necessary repairs, and prioritize work tasks. * Transport equipment from the field to the repair facility and perform emergency repairs in the field as required. * Review status of equipment and perform safety inspections, identify and report equipment problems requiring additional maintenance and repair, and notify supervisors of major repair problems. * Install and test auxiliary and specialized equipment. * Perform routine shop facility maintenance, clean work areas and pick up debris, dispose of lubricants and chemicals in accordance with FSD safety regulations and procedures. * Maintain work orders, records, and logs of services performed and general vehicle information, report any operational problems to the supervisor in a timely manner, and complete other reports as required. * Control work site to assure that safety rules and regulations are followed and recognize, avoid, and report safety hazards, equipment problems, repair needs, security issues, and emergency situations. * Maintain proficiency with fleet management & maintenance system software and other systems as required by the job. * Provide training to an assigned Mechanic Trainee to complete minor adjustments and repairs for required additional assistance. * Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records, and restricted County information POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES: Heavy Duty Assignment * Inspect and diagnose mechanical and electrical problems on County heavy equipment and specialty vehicles, determine extent of necessary repairs, and prioritize work tasks. * Perform technical repairs and system overhauls on heavy equipment and specialty vehicle engines, transmissions, power trains, hydraulics, braking, and steering systems and use technical manuals and computer equipment to diagnose and correct operating problems and faults. * Perform arc and acetylene welding, fabricate and modify metal components, and perform body repairs. * May assist FSD Automobile Mechanics with repair projects as requested. * Perform other related duties as required. * Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to a minimum of two years of experience in the automotive/equipment repair industry servicing light and/or heavy equipment. * Or one year of experience (Light/Heavy) with Pinal County as a Mechanic-Trainee or an Equipment Service Technician. * Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements Special Requirements: * Valid Arizona State Commercial Driver's License is require within 6 months of hire (Heavy Duty Assignment). * Must have the appropriate tools needed to perform the assigned duties. Duties & Responsibilities: Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic The A&P Mechanic is responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of flight school aircraft. The mechanic will be accountable for completing all work in accordance with AeroGuard Company procedures and requirements, as well as all applicable regulatory requirements. **The AH64 Aircraft Mechanic I (Armament/Electrician)** is primarily responsible for the maintenance of AH-64 helicopters, twin-engine attack aircraft with performing maintenance on instruments, weapons, landing gear, rotors, and many other helicopter components.
