This position will be responsible for but not limited to troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and gas/diesel problems, including some fabrication. Additional responsibilities also include the maintenance, inspection, and repair of company owned vehicles and equipment, assisting with audits, inspections, and general upkeep of the shop. How You Will Contribute Coach and mentor entry level Mechanics, oversee daily work/performance, inspect installations/repairs, ensure all safety standards and practices are met. Ability to make repairs on job sites as needed. Conduct inspection of vehicles and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot problems for repair. Repair and maintain construction equipment of various types and sizes from light-duty to over the road trucks and from light-duty to heavy-duty operating equipment. Perform preventative maintenance following operations manuals as well as electrical and hydraulic diagrams/ air condition units. Remove and replace defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools. Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance when used. May fabricate, weld, and cut parts, using arc-welding/ wire feed and flame cutting equipment. Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery. Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) ninety-day inspections. What You Bring to the Table Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding MGE's policies, procedures, and software programs. Excellent communication skills.
