Nexus Integrity Position Summary The mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing a fleet of company-vehicles and mobile equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations. This role supports field operations by minimizing downtime and ensuring all fleet assets meet our standards for performance, safety, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on vehicles, trucks, trailers, and mobile equipment (e.g., diesel and gas pick up, backhoe, skid steer, mini excavators,etc ). Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and technical manuals; troubleshoot vehicle/equipment failures. Repair and rebuild components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, hydraulics, electrical systems, and auxiliary equipment. Fabricate parts or assemblies as needed (welding, machining, cutting) to keep fleet equipment operational. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records for each vehicle/equipment: repairs performed, parts used, time spent, inspection results. Ensure compliance with DOT, and company safety standards; conduct post-repair inspections and road-tests. Coordinate with fleet supervisor and operations/logistics teams to schedule downtime for maintenance with minimal disruption to field work. Order and maintain inventory of replacement parts and supplies; monitor costs and suggest improvements. Maintain clean, organized shop environment; ensure tools, equipment and workspaces are in good condition. Provide after-hours on-call support as needed for field breakdowns or emergency repairs. Train or mentor junior technicians or helpers as required. Keep up to date on the latest vehicle and equipment technology, repair techniques, and safety regulations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a fleet mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic in a field operations environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, electrical systems. Experience with trailers, service trucks, and mobile field equipment. Proficiency in diagnostic tools and reading schematics/technical manuals. Skilled in welding, fabrication, and basic machining operations preferred. Valid drivers license and clean driving record; CDL preferred or ability to obtain. Ability to lift and maneuver heavy components, climb ladders, work in varied weather conditions and at heights. Good organizational, communication and teamwork skills; ability to function in a fast-paced, field-driven environment. Commitment to safety, quality workmanship and integrity in all tasks. Certification(s) such as ASE, Diesel Technology, or similar. Experience in pipeline/energy services, mobile field operations or infrastructure maintenance. Familiarity with fleet management software or maintenance tracking systems. Experience with electronic diagnostic systems and onboard computer modules. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Shop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, oils, and moving equipment. Field travel may be required to job sites; occasional overnight stays. Physical demands: standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs or more with assistance, working on uneven terrain or indoors/outdoors.
