Key Accountabilities Mechanical Maintenance and Technical Support Inspect, troubleshoot and repair all plant mechanical equipment as directed by the mechanical maintenance foreman. Make periodic inspections of plant equipment and report its condition to the supervisor for further evaluation. Regularly communicate interdepartmentally on the status of jobs, projected completion time, and the need (if any) for assistance. Perform basic equipment rigging with supervision. Perform advanced rebuild/retrofits of mechanical equipment (blowers, gear boxes, Centrifuges) and advanced industrial fabrication functions as needed. Safely operate powered industrial vehicles. Act as mechanical vendor liaison. Coordinate inspection and repair schedules, ensure parts availability, confirm the accuracy of bills of labor and materials, etc. Given a specific area the technician should also be aware of replacement part status and notify the foreman of problem areas. Use the plant maintenance software system to query for open emergency and planned mechanical maintenance jobs and to accurately and completely document work effort and job status.
