Maintain a clean and safe shop

Prepare for regulatory inspections and follow-through with local governing team

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Individual must have four and one-half years' of experience as a fully qualified garage mechanic. Education and training equivalent to graduation from high school or vocational school, supplemented by a one-year trade school course, is required. POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision, the individual performs various kinds of skilled and unskilled work in connection with the inspection, maintenance and repair of automotive and mobile or stationary, heavy-duty equipment, including any associated components and equipment. Working knowledge of the operation and construction of internal combustion engines and hydraulic assemblies required. Ability to diagnose operating deficiencies of automotive and hydraulic equipment required.
First consideration will be given to individuals with contractual rights to the position.
Individuals must be able to perform work assignments at the Garage Mechanic level including transmission work, work emergency, and planned overtime when the need exists; acquire a basic knowledge of the Company Safety Manual; have the mechanical ability to use hand/power tools, and equipment. To have a working knowledge of the operation and construction of internal combustion engines and hydraulic assemblies required. Ability to diagnose operating deficiencies of automotive and hydraulic equipment required.
Bargaining unit employees with contractual rights to this position will be given first consideration.
