Responsibilities:
The Sr Fleet Technician's primary purpose will require the individual to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment including gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brakes, forklifts, tankers and trailers.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Efficiently completes all set-ups and troubleshoots assigned lines with assistance from Packaging Mechanics.
Keeps change parts organized and in good repair. Advises when parts are missing or damaged to maintenance supervisor.
Performs routine lubrication and inspection of machines during change overs.
Keeps lines operating properly during the course of production runs.
Assists Packaging machine operators and Supervisor with machinery-related problems encountered during production runs.
Repairs change parts as prescribed.
Looks for opportunities to improve standard line speed and crews and monitors actual line speeds/crews.
Understands and implements fill/torque control requirement. Uses information to minimize waste and spoilage.
Responsible for the daily execution of schedule.
Handles collection and disposal of hazardous products, ethanol and sanitizing agent generated by Packaging in accordance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Follows safety policies and maintains good housekeeping in work area.
Completes asbestos awareness training, recognizes and informs Supervisor of asbestos hazards (ie floor tile drilling) to ensure sampling, appropriate precautions, and/or abatement where required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Education/Experience:

Timken Gears and Services, Philadelphia Gear brand, is seeking a Mechanic for the Mokena, Illinois service center responsible for the assembly, testing, disassembly, inspection and painting of enclosed drive gearboxes.
Duties Include:
• Perform labor activities in the assembly & test departments.
• Performs disassembly and inspection of gear boxes.
• Performs gear box assembly and test.
• Responsible for continuous elimination of waste and implementing cycle time reduction.
• Works with other facility teams (Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering) to ensure that assembly/test problems are addressed and resolved quickly.
• Provides feedback to Engineering on assembly/test discrepancies, drawing errors, quality errors etc., to preclude reoccurrence.
• Practices and emphasizes values and a culture that place the highest value on workplace safety, housekeeping, and environmental compliance.
• Develops relationships with peer groups that foster teamwork and unity of purpose.
Applicant must be able to walk, stand, climb, lift up and/or move up to 50 pounds, see, hear and use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Must have both verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must have mathematical skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals, along with ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Must have a high school degree or equivalent and 0-2 years experience.
The yearly compensation for this role is $21.00 - $28.00 per hour and is commensurate on experience and education.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Conduct Terminating Service maintenance checks per the KA General Maintenance Manual at least every 50 flight hours.
2. Accomplish all required servicing of the aircraft including wheel and brake replacement, engine oil servicing, replacing burnt out light bulbs, wiping down struts, etc.
3. Troubleshoot and repair defects discovered and complete all return to service paperwork completely and on a timely basis.
4. Forward copies of repair information to Maintenance Control as work is completed.
5. Perform other duties as directed by the GMM, Maintenance Control or his supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Also required is an A&P license and previous 747 experience is desirable. Tools required as well
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal direction assigned to staff.
