Your Day at Lowe's
As a maintenance Mechanic I, you'll use your specialized expertise in conveyors, rolling stock, or building components to handle complex repairs in your area of focus. Armed with sufficient electrical and mechanical knowledge, you will independently diagnose, prioritize, plan, and execute repairs. You will also be expected to collaborate with colleagues in management or leadership when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Work in a distribution/warehouse environment, handling physical and environmental aspects typical to such settings.

Minimum Qualifications
Possess a valid state driver's license
2 years of experience in your specialty area
Combination of experience and/or technical training in electrical/electronic theory ranging up to 600 volts systems (or willingness to obtain proper training within 1 year of employment)
Minimally must be able to lift 25 pounds; up to 70 pounds.
Must be able to work safely with corrosive materials and at heights of 20+ feet.
If required by local regulations, certified to perform work at the Maintenance Mechanic level (such as electrical work in the state of Oregon)

Exposure to varying climates, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions, is possible. You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noises in addition to moving or shaking objects and equipment.
Lifting methods vary based on role, weight, and volume. Associates must follow guidelines, limiting single lifts to 70 pounds. Team lifts are used minimally starting at 70 pounds or when needed. Powered equipment should be used as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g., repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles, etc.)
Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.
Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle users.
Cooperate with the rest of the staff
Follow all health and safety regulations
Requirements
High School or GED, required.
Certification from a vocational school or trade school preferred.
A minimum of 6 months' working experience as a Mechanic.
Must have your own tools.
Must have a valid driver's license, CDL is a plus.
At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical, and other systems and their components
Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers)
Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
A problem-solving ability
Good physical strength and stamina
Integrity and ability to work independently
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This job often operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
