Summary: Provide mechanical maintenance support to maintain equipment and systems which support the safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally sound operation of the Petra Nova Carbon Capture Plant. May perform Head Mechanic duties during absence of a Head Mechanic. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: * Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public. * Knowledgeable of environmental rules and regulations, and effectively apply them to all work situations. * Installs, maintains, tests, inspects, and repairs station equipment and systems such as HRSG, Gas Turbine/Generator and its associated auxiliary equipment, Carbon Capture Plant and associated equipment, Fuel Systems, Plant Auxiliary Systems includes valves, pumps, blowers, Environmental Control Process equipment, and Water Treatment Systems. * Replaces bearings, packing in pumps and valves, shaft seals, sleeves, seats, and other miscellaneous parts used in plant equipment. * Works with apprentice mechanics and skill enhancement employees to teach proper, safe use of tools and maintenance procedures. * Employee must arrange own transportation to work location and may be reassigned to another location at the Company's discretion. Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma, GED or equivalent knowledge of English, mathematics and grammar. * Must have a valid state driver's license. * The position is a DOT PHMSA covered position and requires the successful candidate to pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen and drug and alcohol testing background check, and once placed will be a participant in the NRG DOT Program. RESPONSIBILITIES - Locates and marks reference points for columns or plates on foundation, sing master straight edge, squares, transit and measuring tape and applying knowledge of geometry. - Attaches rigging or signals crane operator to lift components to specified position. - Aligns structures or plates sections to assemble boiler frame, tanks or vats sing plumb bobs, levels, wedges, dogs or turnbuckles. - Hammers, flame-cuts, files grinds irregular edges of sections or structural parts to facilitate fitting edges together. - Bolts or arc-welds structures and sections together. - Positions drums and headers into supports or bolts or welds supports to frame. - Aligns water tubes, connects and expands ends to drums and headers using tube expander. - Bolts or welds casing sections, uptakes, stacks, baffles and such fabricated parts as chutes, air heaters, fan stands, feeding tube, cat walks, ladders, coal hoppers and safety hatch to frame using wrenches - Performs minor maintenance or cleaning activities with tools and equipment. - Installs manholes, handholds, valves, gauges and feed water connection in drums to complete assembly of water tube boilers. - Signals crane operator in lifting parts to specific positions. - Assists in testing assembled vessels by pumping water or gas under specified pressure into vessels and observing instruments for evidence of leakage. - Repairs boilers or tanks in field by unbolting or flame cutting defective sections or tubes, straightening plates using torch or jacks, installing new tubes, fitting and welding new sections and replacing worn lugs on bolts. - May fasten and caulk sections of vessels, using pneumatic fasteners and caulking hammers. - May line firebox with refractory brick and blocks. - May fabricate parts such as, stacks, uptakes, and chutes to adapt boiler to premises in which it is installed. - Flame cutting and knowledge of torch use. - Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules. Job Description Rotating Machinery Services, Inc. is seeking qualified Rotating Equipment Mechanics to work 2nd shift (3:00pm to 11:00pm) that will perform a variety of mechanical operations / tasks on turbomachinery components and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements. This position requires experience working on pumps, gearboxes, compressors, and Blowers. The requirements below are the minimum requirements an employee needs to fulfill this position. They are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability required for the position. JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS Unit disassembly, cleaning, and inspection including the accurate collection and recording of technical inspection data for equipment repair proposals. Maintain, diagnose, and repair all types of rotating equipment. Complete required maintenance to return equipment back to customer operating condition, per OEM specifications. Prepare and complete service documentation. Maintaining clear and concise daily work records. Use of basic problem-solving skills in terms of gathering facts, analyzing the cause, and selecting the best most accurate solution. Maintenance of shop equipment and regular daily shop housekeeping to ensure an organized and safe working environment. Responsible for understanding and complying with the safety policy, procedures, and instructions. Disassemble complex rotating equipment and provide written observations of failure modes and condition of “as received” parts. Assist in cleaning and prepping parts for NDT and PMI examination. Knowledge and/or Skill Requirements: NCCER Millwright certification helpful. Must be a team player and be willing to train junior Mechanics. This position requires good attendance and punctuality. Job Summary The Field Forklift Technician will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing various Material Handling Equipment (MHE). Key Job Responsibilities Perform routine preventative maintenance on Material Handling Equipment (MHE). Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair MHE including, but not limited to: Liquid Propane, Gas and Diesel engines, Transmissions, Hydraulic Systems, Steering Systems, Electrical Systems, and Brakes. Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications. Provide Information and recommend services to the Sales team. Manage work orders (paper and digital) for each job in a timely manner. Perform hazard assessments and maintain a high standard of safe work practices and quality control. Follow company and OSHA safety rules and guidelines. Avoid injuries and damage to property, loss of unused materials and clean-up of work area debris. Completes all necessary company training in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Key Performance Measurements A score card that reflects performance in areas such as safety, completion time for projects, customer satisfaction, and issue resolution. Management observation regarding attitude, diligence, team contributions, and willingness & ability to learn new skills and information. Other key metrics prescribed by Elite Material Handling leadership, resulting in positive customer and Company impact. Requirements: Experience in repair and maintenance of: Electrical, Diesel and Internal Combustion Forklifts; Aerial Lifts; Lift Trucks; and other related material handling equipment. Minimum of 2 years is highly preferred. Ability to thrive in a fast paced, technology driven, service environment. Possess strong teamwork skills. Ability to multi-task. Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Must be able to communicate effectively, verbal and written, with management and customers. Able to manage time effectively, as well as complete service reports, timecards and parts ordering. Must have schedule flexibility, as services may be performed during evenings, weekends or holidays. Willingness to work overtime. High School Diploma or GED is required. Must be able to pass a standard Department of Transportation (DOT) physical. The selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
