Join Serco as a Fleet Mechanic in Winchester, KY! We support a large utility fleet by operating, diagnosing and repairing light duty vehicles, medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks as well as other equipment. As a Fleet Mechanic, you can expect to: Perform operational and functional inspections, repairs and maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment. Perform inspections, repair and maintenance operations on a variety of powered, non-powered equipment, and vehicles. Ability to work on a diverse equipment set, which includes mowers, cranes, backhoes, trailers, trenchers, bulldozers, excavators, diggers and pole setting equipment, aerial manlifts, cranes, medium and heavy trucks and mounted/non-mounted attachments. Operate and perform diagnosis on equipment, maintain and repair hydraulic systems, routes and replaces hydraulic lines, check system for leaks and proper operation. Perform diagnosis and repair complex electrical systems. Perform minor welding repairs when required in a field environment. Perform routine vehicle and equipment preventive maintenance inspections checking, DOT inspections and replaces fluids, checks lights and other electrical system components, etc. Provide clear and accurate information when entering work order data into a fleet maintenance system. We're seeking an industrial maintenance mechanic to support a busy manufacturing facility on 2nd shift. Must enjoy troubleshooting, working independently and have strong technical skills. This person may specialize in one or more of the following areas but should have general knowledge in all: mechanical, electrical, electronics, HVAC, and hydraulics. What You'll Be Doing: Troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining buildings, machinery, and mechanical equipment for our metal-forming manufacturing facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned. Diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance by starting devices to test their performance, observing mechanical devices in operation and listening to their sounds to locate causes of trouble, dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, repairing and replacing defective parts and may install special functional and structural parts. Lubricate and clean parts and equipment and repairs and maintains equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturers' specifications using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments. Examine form and texture to parts to detect imperfections, inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. May set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Apply basic electrical knowledge to test electrical equipment to determine causes for malfunction such as motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principals.
