Summary: The Mechanic is responsible for adhering to our level of commitment to safety and customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts. Perform minor and major repairs on waste pick- up trucks and support equipment. Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures. Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation and oil changes. Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units. Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems. Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards. Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting. Maintains accurate vehicle records by annotating services and repairs. Collaborate with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs. Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications. Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Follow and comply with all safety policies. Additional duties as assigned.

NATURE OF WORK
An employee in this class performs complex duties in the operation, repair and maintenance of the vehicles in the school transportation program. Most work is performed based on prior experience. The employee is expected to resolve problems of medium difficulty with little assistance while others may be referred to a supervisor. Most errors may be expected to be resolved by the employee. The employee receives general supervision and work is occasionally reviewed while in progress.
Under general supervision, performs journeyman work in the maintenance and repair of school buses and other automotive equipment of the School System Transportation Department. Work involves identifying, diagnosing, and repairing malfunctions in transportation vehicles and equipment, testing equipment for compliance with safety standards; and operating specialized power tools to recondition complete sub-assemblies. Employee is also responsible for checking lighting and wiring mechanisms for proper function; performing engine and other sub-assembly checks; and performing N.C. A high school diploma or higher is required.

The Contractor shall have the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts and accessories/components and the skill to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. The Contractor shall also have the skill to identify and isolate integrated systems malfunctions and analyze performance and operate integrated avionics systems to determine operational condition per operational checks. Experience using specialized tools required for military aviation electrical connector assembly/disassembly and other associated electrical terminating devices is required. Aircraft modification and operational checks experience required. Experience in electrical harness fabrication and braiding.
Electrical Knowledge: The Contractor shall have the ability to follow and accomplish tasks in accordance with existing published technical data. The Contractor shall have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications required to accomplish maintenance tasks and modifications. Knowledge is mandatory of electrical, electronic, microelectronic, mechanical and indicator principles theory, and application relating to electrical systems; concepts and application of maintenance directives; meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics; using and interpreting testing and measuring devices; and proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
Other: Normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123, Medical Examinations and Standards is mandatory for this specialty.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to the duties listed above, every crew member is responsible for general center maintenance and cleaning duties such as mopping, washing center windows and clearing litter. Crew members must attend crew meetings as required, as well as other duties assigned by a supervisor.

Materials and Equipment used: Automotive oils, fluids, and lubricants. Windshield washer fluid, battery electrolyte
Environment: Frequent exposure to outside weather elements, noise, and vehicle exhaust fumes throughout the entire shift.

Position Overview
FlyExclusive is seeking experienced A&P Mechanics (Level II through Senior) to join our world-class maintenance team in Kinston, NC. This role supports the maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of a premium fleet of business and corporate aircraft. Candidates must have hands-on experience working with business jets, exceptional attention to detail, and a strong understanding of high-end MRO standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on business/corporate jet aircraft (Cessna Citation, Gulfstream, Embraer, Challenger, Falcon, etc.)
Conduct routine inspections, including 100-hour, Phase/Letter checks, and major inspections
Troubleshoot and repair airframe, engine, avionics, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Review and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, technical data, service bulletins, and engineering documents
Properly document all maintenance actions in accordance with FAA and company requirements
Ensure strict adherence to FAA Part 135/145 safety and maintenance regulations
Support aircraft return-to-service with accuracy and timely completion
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Mentor junior A&Ps (Sr-level roles) and contribute to team development
Required Qualifications
Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
Minimum 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience
Business/Corporate Jet experience is REQUIRED
(Citation, Gulfstream, Challenger, Embraer, Falcon, Hawker, or similar)
Strong understanding of corporate jet systems, inspections, and repair standards
Must pass background check and drug/alcohol screening
Ability to work overtime, weekends, or shifts as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Part 135 or Part 145 operations
Familiarity with CAMP, Corridor, or similar maintenance tracking systems
