Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Diesel Mechanic specializing in trucks and heavy equipment, based in Waterbury, CT. Propane forklift experience is a plus. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and equipment essential to the company's operations. Daily tasks include conducting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and resolving issues with vehicles, cranes and forklifts. Skills and abilities

Ability to operate and maintain all tools and equipment used in these trades. Ability to lift a maximum of fifty(50)pounds. Ability to crawl into and work in confining spaces, such as pipe chases/tunnels, top of, or behind, boilers, and from ladders or staging on overhead pipes, boilers, equipment, etc., safely and in accordance with all laws and regulations pertaining to the work including OSHA confined space regulations.
Minimum qualifications
This person shall; (1) be a U.S. Citizen, (2) be a vocational, trade or high school graduate, or have completed the G.E.D., (3) possess a valid drivers license and a clean driving record, (4) have the ability to read and write the English language at the 8th grade level, and (5) possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings as they pertain to the particular trade. Must hold CT P1 license for plumbing and S2 license for heating. An F1 or F2 license for fire protection would be a plus. At least five (5) years experience in the plumbing trade and two (2) years experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of low pressure steam and circulating hot water boilers. Must have demonstrable experience in the servicing and maintaining of HVAC equipment, and working knowledge of pneumatic controls, air compressors, and related equipment.
Working Conditions
Subject to exposure to inadequate light and ventilation. Will be required to wear eye, face, head, hand, foot, hearing and respiratory protection when needed. Will be required to follow all safety procedures at all times. The Board of Education will provide safety equipment required for the safe conduct of the work in accordance with state and federal regulations, town policies and bargaining unit contract.

THE WORK
The Experimental Aircraft Mechanic will perform work using general instructions, drawings, and E.O,'s. They will plan and perform maintenance tasks independently, including a wide variety of operations to install, repair, modify, replace, or adjust aircraft components including landing gear, rotor head and transmission, engine and accessories, tail cone, gear boxes, retro-fit kits, etc.
They will install control rods and cables, servos, and other control units. Rig all phases of flight, engine, main rotor head and tail rotor controls, including secondary check out and troubleshooting. Install tubing and hydraulic units and systems, including servos, and make operational checks.
Install and check out electrical harness and equipment kits per standard procedure. Repair, modify, and install all miscellaneous parts and equipment as required, incorporate all changes and modifications, and file, fit, drill, ream, countersink bolt, rivet, etc., as necessary to install and fasten parts.
Perform other miscellaneous and related duties involved in technical modifications and overhaul and repair operations in accordance with individual job assignments or as workload warrants, including cleaning aircraft and parts, moving aircraft, and other duties.
Work shall be performed primarily in Stratford, CT. OCONUS/CONUS travel will be required to support business requirements.
