Experience using specialized tools required for military aviation electrical connector assembly/disassembly and other associated electrical terminating devices is required. Aircraft modification and operational checks experience required. Contractor must have experience in electrical harness fabrication and braiding.
Electrical Knowledge: The Contractor shall have the ability to follow and accomplish tasks in accordance with existing published technical data. The Contractor shall have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications required to accomplish maintenance tasks and modifications. Knowledge is mandatory of electrical, electronic, microelectronic, mechanical and indicator principles theory, and application relating to electrical systems; concepts and application of maintenance directives; meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics; using and interpreting testing and measuring devices; and proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.

The contractor will be responsible for the proper repair and maintenance for a large fleet of forklifts and related equipment of various brands (predominately Raymond). The forklift fleet consists of a variety of electric, gas-, and diesel-powered units designed for interior and exterior building use. The contractor shall be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive maintenance schedule, obtaining approval for the schedule from appropriate government focal points, and adhering to the schedule in order to ensure all forklift units are mechanically ready for use and safe to operate. The contractor shall manage a spare parts inventory and make all levels of repairs when necessary. The contractor will also be responsible for repairing and maintaining pallet jacks and carts.

Repairs all assigned forklifts and equipment to ensure they are safe and dependable.
Inspects and tests equipment for mechanical defects, and replaces worn parts.
Removes, replaces, adjusts, or cleans defective parts or components
Perform oil changes, check fluids, diagnose tread wear, charge and repair batteries and trouble-shoot problems.
Inspects/replaces hydraulic lines/hoses as needed.
Ensure braking and electrical systems are optimal.
Utilizes appropriate techniques and procedures in accordance with manufacturer's specification
Identifies necessary parts, equipment and supplies needed to complete repair or preventative check.
Road tests vehicles during and occasionally upon completion of maintenance/repair work.
Responds to emails and telephone calls.
Performs other related duties as required or as directed by Supervisor regarding forklift and equipment maintenance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Extensive knowledge of the operating systems used in forklifts and associated hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Extensive knowledge of the practices and tools used in the maintenance and diagnostics of forklifts and equipment.
Considerable knowledge of computer, electrical, transistorized and other non-mechanical systems and how they tie-in with and affect the operation of mechanical systems.
Considerable knowledge of the full range of tools, equipment, test procedures and practices used in the repair and preventative maintenance of forklifts.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Experience diagnosing complex mechanical and related malfunctions.
Expertise in reading technical manuals, references and specifications and service and recall bulletins.
Written communication skills necessary to write routine correspondences, maintenance logs and order forms.
Expertise in how to operate a forklift, power tools, wrenches, diagnostic equipment, and jacks.
Working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Access and Microsoft Office Suite.
Adaptability to prioritize and schedule multiple work requirements.
Flexibility in work schedule.
Representational skills necessary to interact with outside vendors.
Working knowledge of diesel, gas, and electric mechanics.
Experience welding simple parts.
Work Environment
The work is usually performed inside on concrete surfaces where there is exposure to drafts, noise, and fumes from vehicles. Forklift technician - Senior occasionally perform work outside under adverse weather conditions. They are continually exposed to dirt, dust, and grease, and to the potential for burns, chemical irritations, shocks, bruises, cuts, and strains. To reduce dangers and irritations from these conditions, they follow prescribed safety practices and use safety equipment such as safety shoes and glasses, and respirators.

Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph
Experience:
Ten (10) years of experience in the problem diagnosis, repair and maintenance of a wide variety of forklift maintenance.
Education:
High school Diploma or GED equivalent.
Special Certifications:
Certified in the safe operation of forklifts by the Sponsor within 30-days of commencing work and every 24-months as required.
Certified maintenance on Raymond brand forklifts.
Other pertinent forklift maintenance certifications.
