TELECOMMUNICATIONS MECHANIC II (PSTS-2025-23879): Bowhead seeks a Telecommunications Mechanic II fora newly awarded contracteffort to provide Base Telecom Support at the Puget Sound, WA Shipyard and satellite locations. The effort will provide telecommunications operations and maintenance (O&M). This includes secure and reliable, classified and unclassified, voice and data services in support of Command, Control, Computer, Communications and Information (C4I) operations and exercises.
**Responsibilities**
Essential functions will include:
+ Operate and maintain government-owned **telephony switches (PBX)** , including:
+ **Nortel Meridian Option 81c**
+ Perform:
+ Troubleshooting and repair of switch issues
+ Software updates and patching
+ Installation and configuration of switch hardware
+ Daily operation monitoring
+ Support for voicemail systems and IPE (Remote Intelligent Peripheral Equipment)
+ Utilize company vehicle to travel to remote locations weekly.
+ Ensure switch systems remain fully operational and compliant with DoD/Navy standards.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
+ Education
+ Associate's degree or higher in IT or Cybersecurity (preferred).

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
As our Experienced Truck Technician / Mechanic, you'll take on the challenge of maintaining and repairing medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks, ensuring every job is completed accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You will directly support our customers' success by keeping their trucks running smoothly and maximizing uptime.
Each day, you'll diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, identifying the best solutions to restore each truck to peak performance. Your work may include repairing or rebuilding major components such as cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems.
Each day, you'll have the opportunity to continue improving your skills while working alongside other highly trained technicians in a fully equipped shop. With the right tools, training, and support at your disposal, you'll perform top-quality work that makes a real impact.
WHAT YOU NEED:
2 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic trouble-shooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair. Will also accept candidates with a Diesel tech degree and a mechanical aptitude/background.
Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred.
Basic computer knowledge. Cummins and MX software experience preferred.
Self-motivation and assertiveness.
Ability to work under little or no supervision.
Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
Must provide own tools.
Compensation: $29.80-34.35/hr (Depending on Experience) Why work for Pape':
