Purpose
Responsible for set-up and assembly of all types of equipment offered for sale by the dealership. Performs pre-delivery inspections and prepares equipment for delivery to the customer. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Service Location Manager, Salesman, Shop Foreman or senior technicians.
Responsibilities
Assists the Service Manager and technicians in the efficient operation of the department
Cleans, organizes and maintains the condition of shop, vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
Assists service technicians as needed
Assists service technicians with repairing, servicing and moving equipment
Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders
Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submittal of information.
May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities
Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
Requirements Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge
Proficient in operating vehicles, tools, and equipment pertinent to machinery pre-delivery and set-up procedures.
Demonstrated basic problem-solving abilities.
Foundational knowledge of hydraulic systems.
Experience with the installation of third function hydraulics on tractors is considered advantageous.
Basic understanding of electrical systems.
Skilled in installing lighting, signals, and related components on machinery.
Ability to interpret and follow equipment installation manuals accurately.
Conducting pre-delivery inspections for lawn tractors, utility vehicles, and agricultural tractors.
Installation of a wide range of attachments, including but not limited to: snow blowers, snow blades, collection systems, power flows, mulch kits, rotary cutters, box blades, pallet forks, and tillers.
Competence in cutting drivelines as required.
Experience with essential computer functions.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Possession of an adequate toolset necessary for fulfilling job duties (Specialty tools may be supplied by the dealership).
Valid driver's license is mandatory.
AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This position is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of City automobiles, trucks, and other motor driven equipment and their auxiliary attachments. The work includes diagnosing and correcting various mechanical problems in the automobile and heavy machinery fleet. While the ability to exercise independent judgement is required, general supervision is received from administrative personnel. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Illustrative only
* Operates tools and equipment including but not limited to valve-grinders, drum-cutting lathes, wheel balancers, machine lathes, cutting and heating torches, basic machine tools, and mechanical and electrical measuring and analysis equipment;
* Inspects, maintains, and repairs electrical, fuel hydraulic, cooling, and exhaust systems; Removes, rebuilds, and adjusts carburetors, distributors, transmissions, etc.;
* Inspects, removes, and repairs brakes;
* Repairs internal combustion engines, (gas, diesel) including fitting of crank shafts, pistons, pins, and bearings;
* Repairs snow plows, road rollers, excavating equipment, street sweepers, and various miscellaneous mowers, pumps, generators, etc.;
* Adjusts steering mechanisms and aligns wheels;

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Possession of a Class D Driver's License valid in the State of New York.

* Possession of a valid New York State Motor Vehicle Inspector's Certification for Light Vehicles, Heavy Vehicles and Emissions.

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic: Installs, maintains and repairs production equipment and minor plant facilities by performing the following duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.

Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy vehicle inspections

Comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA right-to-know
Assist in all housekeeping functions as directed by Management
Work closely with the service department and effectively communicate the extent of any damage or malfunctions on a guest's vehicle
Follow and promote our high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization

Qualifications:
1-2+ years of professional automotive technician / general service experience
Current driver's license

ASE Certifications preferred, or a plan to achieve

We are looking for technicians who are energetic, upbeat, and have a positive attitude. The technicians we are looking for have to seek out solutions to tough problems with a strong passion for doing what's right for our guests.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
General Service Technicians / Mechanics perform all maintenance and repair services including but not limited to; oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacements, suspension alignments, and more
Perform state-mandated vehicle emission and safety inspections in accordance with state regulations
Work as part of a team to troubleshoot guest concerns quickly and effectively
Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy vehicle inspections
Ensure all preventive maintenance reports are complete and accurate
Comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA right-to-know
Assist in all housekeeping functions as directed by Management
Work closely with the service department and effectively communicate the extent of any damage or malfunctions on a guest's vehicle
Follow and promote our high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization
Qualifications
Qualifications:
1-2+ years of professional automotive technician / general service experience
Current driver's license
Positive attitude and a desire to serve guests
ASE Certifications preferred, or a plan to achieve
Aptitude for learning additional skills and processes
A desire for long-term career development
Physical Requirements:
Occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds
Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head
Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle's needed repair
Have the needed dexterity in order to efficiently use hand-tools
Walk/stand for the majority of the workday
Drive manual transmission vehicles
Keeping a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment
Efficiently navigate a computer

Job duties for this position include performing basic maintenance on service vehicles. Basic maintenance includes inspecting, replenishing, draining, and filling fluids and lubricants, balancing and rotating tires, performing vehicle inspections, completing basic brake repairs, and all work must be documents per manufacturer and Kendall standards.
Work is performed indoors in a shop environment, tool usage includes mechanic's hand and power tools that produce significant vibration and force, standing and walking will be required for entire work shift in order to complete job duties. Pushing, pulling, crouching, squatting, reaching, and kneeling will be required frequently to access all parts of vehicles being worked on. Lifting as well as pushing and pulling weights and forces from 20 to 100 pounds occasionally required.

5+ years of experience as a Service Technician (ASE Certification required).
