Responsibilities Position Summary
As the Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Technician, you will impact PSA Airlines' business growth by conducting aviation repairs and services that allow for operations to be on time. By executing maintenance procedures in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company standards, you are ensuring safe and reliable flights.
Job Responsibilities
Will perform tasks necessary to comply with Federal Aviation Regulations and accept the responsibility for work performed by themselves and/or in conjunction with others and sign for same on the Company's approved forms.
Keep work areas clean. Return all equipment and tools to assigned areas. A&P Technicians will report all inoperative or faulty equipment to the Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Mechanic in charge.
Work will consist of and include any and all phases of repair and maintenance of aircraft with the aid of the employee's own tools, specialty tools provided by the Company, the use of test equipment, and Company-supplied technical manuals.
In certain cases, and A&P Technician may be authorized to perform required inspection items and assist in Company training programs.
Will at the commencement of each repair or inspection initiate the proper documentation. Parts tags will include a complete description of the discrepancy on all removed parts. Determine if the work to be performed is a Required Inspection Item.
Verifying, through proper documentation, that any part installed on any aircraft or component is approved for that aircraft or component and has been visually inspected and is free of damage or contamination.
Assure that hangar workshops and other areas assigned are maintained in an orderly manner.
Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor through the Lead Mechanic.

Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification.

Capable of using respirators and other personal protective equipment including eye and hearing protection.

Venture Dynamics is seeking a Barge Services Mechanic.
As a Barge Services Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing advanced mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation tasks on a variety of barge systems and equipment within the shipyard. This role requires extensive mechanical knowledge, precision, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team to ensure the reliable operation of shipyard services and equipment.
The position is located in Norfolk, VA and will often require hours beyond a standard work week with flexible schedule availability to support production/operations. Position may require limited travel.
Position will work 8 hours shifts Monday-Friday and 4 hour shifts Saturday-Sunday. Must be available to work all holidays and be on call 24/7. Position will require a current active DBIDS or the ability to get one.
Job Description:
Key responsibilities include:
Perform routine and complex maintenance and repair tasks on mechanical systems and other shipboard equipment, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
Install, align, and secure mechanical systems and components in accordance with technical specifications and blueprints.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly, using diagnostic tools and technical expertise to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Execute upgrades and modifications to mechanical systems to enhance performance, efficiency, and safety.
Perform precision fitting and calibration of mechanical components to meet strict tolerances and specifications.
Accurately read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
Utilize a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to perform mechanical tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and installations, including materials used, time spent and any modifications made to systems.
Collaborate with other tradespeople and departments to complete projects within specified timelines.
Effectively manage multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating the ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities successfully.
Mentor department employees and other assigned crew members, providing support and training as needed.
Qualifications:
Must have at least 3 years of experience as a barge mechanic or have graduated from a registered apprenticeship program relevant to the trade.
Must have demonstrated a strong understanding of mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation. Strong understanding of barge mechanical systems and components.
Must be knowledgeable in the operation and repair of all barge systems including, but not limited to, mechanical, plumbing, communication, electrical, CHT, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Must be able to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Must have on call availability 24/7.
Must be DBIDS Eligible.

Assisting the Senior Mechanic with the training of new Mechanics.
WHAT IT TAKES:
