The Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and advanced repairs, advanced mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. Heavily relied upon for advanced diagnostics and triage of complicated repairs by Mobile Diesel Technician I/II. Considered the Lead on jobsites by customers and Technicians. Functions as a consultant on the customer's behalf. A successful Sr Mobile Diesel Technician complies with all company policies and achieves high level performance metrics.
DUTIES:
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance ("PM"), DOT Inspections and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustment and repairs on various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and to ensure that they are working properly.
• Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, using sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives.
• Independently manage parts inventory and equipment provided on company-issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.
• Maintain and operate company-issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and pre-/post-trip inspections of vehicle.
• Work with and listen effectively to clients and customers to assess their needs, providing information or assistance, resolving their problems, or satisfying their expectations.
• Manage concurrent assigned tasks, making effective judgments as to prioritizing work related activities and time allocations.
• Use hand tools, precision instruments, as well as Diesel tools, welding equipment, lift and jacks.
• Document according to company standards and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and all findings observed on Repair Orders ("RO") using company-issued iOS device and our proprietary TRAIT application.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in timely fashion.
• Work with a high degree of independence and manage own daily schedule.
• Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most Standard Repair Times.
• Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for the repairs to be performed.
• Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers and/or discuss RO findings notes.
• Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
• Maintain company issued service truck, conduct safety checks and daily pre/post trip inspections.
REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate
could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS
diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years' experience in a related field.

The Role

The Responsibilities
Diagnosis of failure and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, including mechanical, electrical, software, hydraulic, or pneumatic.
Monitors production metrics to implement a proactive approach to repair and maintenance to prevent unplanned down time.
Routinely monitors and adjusts the manufacturing equipment to achieve production goals and metrics. Supports production through planning maintenance and repairs in coordination with installation, setups and changeovers of equipment.
Initiates or updates required documentation including maintenance, repair logs, work orders in CMMS, shift reports per cGMP requirements.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service, maintains and orders spart parts inventory as required. Always acts accordingly following all OSHA and EH&S rules and regulations to prevent injury to self and others.
Maintains all tools and repair equipment in a neat and orderly fashion to minimize the time for repairs and maintenance.
Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of equipment is completed in a timely manner and documents are completed correctly and following cGMP requirements.
Assists engineers in qualifying new and modified equipment.
Some Weekends and Overtime is required

Mission of
this Position:Work side by side with A&P mechanics and supervisors, to inspect, test, repair, maintain, and service aircraft and aircraft systems following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to properly perform safely, accurately and on-time.
Key Responsibilities:
Meet or exceed position's duties/expectations and FAA regulations while displaying initiative, adhering to Tropic Ocean Airways (TOA) SOPs and aligning with core values of the organization.
Work under the supervision and guidance of the Director of Maintenance (DOM) and Assistant Director of Maintenance (ADOM) of the department to ensure that aircraft are prepared to safely function per regulation.
Participate in internal communication with all other departments related to equipment considerations, product excellence, scheduling issues and required paperwork.
Focus on safety by observing self and teammates and being vigilant. Report issues and offer suggestions to promote continuous process improvement.
Examine and inspect engine or other components for cracks, breaks, or leaks.
Disassemble and inspect parts for wear, warping, or other defects.
Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, using hand tools and power tools.
Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft systems, using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
Service and maintain aircraft systems by performing tasks, such as checking oil levels, fueling aircraft, greasing moving parts, checking tires and checking brakes.
Perform calendar and hourly inspections and other collateral duties as assigned such as inventory control.
Essential Skill Set:
Airframe and powerplant (A&P) license from FAA
Experience in a civil aviation maintenance environment or military aviation maintenance environment
Keen attention to detail and time management skills
Effective spoken and written communication skills
Ability to adhere to TOA safety and SOP standards
Demonstrated ability to act with honest, integrity, and respect for teammates
Experience with modern avionics systems (e.g., Garmin G1000, Collins Pro Line 21, other glass cockpit systems) is a plus
Experience with Cessna Caravan (C208) or Pratt & Whittney PT6A engine are a plus

Experience with 2+ types of engines required for Mechanic II and Mechanic III (CFM56-5B, CFM56-7B, and/or V2500).
Borescope experience preferred (required for Mechanic III).
Careful workmanship and attention to detail in performing duties.
Ability to work under stressful conditions because of the degree of responsibility required.
Ability to read, understand and follow manual instructions in English.
Writing and oral communication skills are sufficient to prepare reports and to discuss equipment malfunction.
