A Day in the Life: What You'll Be Doing As a Diesel Technician, you'll be a key part of our Fleet Maintenance team, ensuring our Class 8 fleet is safe and reliable. Our fleet is primarily day cabs and trailers, all under manufacturer warranty-meaning no major engine overhauls or roadside calls. You'll perform a variety of tasks, with clear pathways for growth: Routine Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and component replacements on our fleet. Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot complex electrical, engine, and transmission problems. System Repairs: Address issues with aftertreatment systems (DEF/emissions), perform regens, and change filters. Collaborate & Optimize: Work with your team to maintain accurate records, optimize vehicle performance, and minimize downtime. Safety First: Adhere to all safety protocols and industry best practices to ensure our fleet is always DOT compliant. What We're Looking For We're searching for skilled professionals with a strong background in diesel technology. Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience with Heavy-Duty Class 8 trucks and trailers or similar equipment (e.g., agricultural, construction, waste collection truck). Technical Skills: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for diesel engines, transmissions, and vehicle systems. Proficiency with diagnostic software and using a laptop for manuals. Experience with aftertreatment systems and electrical diagnostics. Comfortable with MIG welding is a plus. Certifications & Training: A minimum of two ASE Certifications within the first 6 months of employment (we'll reimburse you!). T-series ASE Certifications are highly valued. Requirements: A valid Driver's License with clean driving record Ability to perform physical tasks associated with vehicle maintenance (lifting, bending, etc.). Scope: The position of Diesel Mechanic is accountable for maintenance and repair of mobile nitrogen pumpers and related cryogenic equipment to operate in a safe and reliable manor. Basic computer proficiency using Microsoft Word/Excel as well as manufacturer diagnostic software. The CBP Aircraft Mechanic performs maintenance, overhaul, repair, inspection, and aircraft servicing functions on assigned aircraft within an aircraft maintenance and operations environment and in accordance with applicable instructions. Principal Accountabilities: Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspection, repair, and modification of aircraft in accordance with 14 CFR and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, technical manuals, and other data as applicable. Perform daily and turnaround inspections on all assigned aircraft. Perform inspections, corrosion control, troubleshooting and fault isolation on aircraft systems. May be required to fly on Government aircraft for relocation, to conduct in-flight checks (test flights) and to conduct trouble shooting that cannot be completed on the ground. May be required to perform official travel to temporary duty sites within and outside the United States. Furnish own hand tools to perform maintenance of aircraft (necessary special tools and test equipment will be furnished by the customer). This mechanic repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. This worker reads and interprets manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Work involves replacing or repairing worn or damaged components, such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or forklift truck, disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or replacing defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft. Job duties require that this mechanic adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. Supervises the jacking and towing of aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition, specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, and specialize in engine repair. May be required to be licensed by Federal Aviation Administration. May require specialization in sheet-metal, electric work, avionics or other aircraft systems related disciplines. Skill and Knowledge: Shall have the ability to troubleshoot malfunctions in various aircraft systems and be able to perform general Organizational Level maintenance and possess one or more of the specialties of the assigned aircraft below: Airframe/Structural, Corrosion, Landing Gear, Wing/Pylon Fold, Hydraulic/Pneumatic, and mechanical Flight Control Systems Responsibility: Performs requirements in accordance with the procedures established in the PWS. Performs diagnosis and corrective actions, disassembles, inspects, evaluates, and accomplishes necessary repairs, lays out work according to technical instructions and technical directives.
