Perform scheduled and on-demand maintenance, repairs, and diagnostic services on diesel trucks, trailers, and equipment. Communicate professionally with customers regarding job progress, estimated completion times, and service details. Provide timely updates to the General Manager regarding job status and any changes to the schedule. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service truck at all times. GENERAL PURPOSE: The Facilities Maintenance Specialist I performs a variety of maintenance, service, and repair tasks that may involve buildings, facilities, mechanical equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, or other trades at various City facilities and locations. This work is performed under close supervision - the incumbent is assigned duties according to specified procedures and receives detailed instructions; work is checked frequently and is reviewed through observation, completion of work orders, and review of results achieved. Completion of a vocational or technical skilled trades program is preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provide the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities, and other competencies required for the position may be considered. CERTIFICATIONS, TRAINING, SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's license, Class E or higher. GENERAL PURPOSE Under limited supervision, the Mechanic II is responsible for moderate to advanced repair and preventive maintenance of industrial laundry equipment and related systems. This includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and facility systems in a fast-paced, high-volume production setting. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Follow all company safety protocols and demonstrate safety awareness throughout each shift Perform preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and maintain accurate service logs Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment issues Replace worn or faulty machine components (mechanical and electrical) Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical diagrams Conduct basic welding, plumbing, and general facility maintenance tasks Support plant operations by completing opening and closing equipment procedures Look up and request parts using manuals, inventory systems, or online resources Mentor junior mechanics on routine maintenance and troubleshooting Collaborate with the maintenance team and assist with project work or additional duties as needed. Perform maintenance, repairs, and inspections on a wide range of ground support equipment used in airport operations. Ensure all GSE is in safe, reliable working condition to support efficient airport activities while adhering to FAA regulations and airport safety standards. Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on various GSE, including baggage tugs, belt loaders, pushback tractors, ground power units, air conditioning units. Perform scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on GSE Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
