Pay rate increases incrementally according to the union contract. Current top wage is $43.50 after 36 months. Under the supervision of the Shop Supervisor and Management Team of Public Works, the auto gas/diesel mechanic will perform, a full range of skilled mechanical maintenance, diagnostic, inspection, and repair duties on Noli School Buses, Heavy Equipment, Tribal Administration's Company vehicles. DUTIES AND RESPONISBILITIES Although other duties may be assigned, the essential duties include the following: * Perform routine vehicle maintenance and preventive care for all Noli School Buses, Tribal company vehicles and heavy equipment in a timely matter. * Independently inspects and performs routine servicing of busses, light vehicles and heavy equipment, to include lubrication, oil changes, replacement of worn parts, valve adjustments, engine tune-ups, compression tests, emission control system tests and adjustments, and hydraulic & air brake adjustments and repairs. * Overhauls and repairs gas and diesel engines and transmissions to include the replacement of valves, pistons, piston rings, main bearings and crank shafts. * Performs diagnosis and troubleshooting of vehicles mechanic and electrical problems; and determines extent of repairs, and makes repairs as needed. From interpreting blueprints, manufactures' instructions, and written or verbal instructions, determine the sequence of operations required to maintain, repair, and adjust air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Perform periodic or special preventive maintenance inspections to ascertain the general condition of the equipment and make recommendations for repairs as necessary to keep the equipment in good operating condition. Perform the recommended routine preventive maintenance on the equipment. Troubleshoot problems using appropriate electrical, mechanical, or pneumatic testing equipment. Adjust pneumatic, mechanical, and electric controls, including calibrating, replacing, and setting for appropriate temperatures and pressures. Assist in the installation of major new air conditioning systems, including installation of ducts, piping, various air conditioning units, and related equipment. Perform Air Conditioning Shop and Central Facilities Services duties. Performing other related duties as assigned. The Ride Maintenance Mechanics perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and annual rehabilitation of a variety of different amusement rides and attractions. Areas of responsibility include (but are not limited to) maintenance of: gearboxes, chains, sprockets, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, wire rope, hoists, brakes, pumps, and large bearings. Role and Responsibilities Inspect mechanical components of the KC-135 to identify problems. • Maintain and repair all systems of the KC-135 to include: Hydraulics System - Replace hydraulic components, bleed systems, and diagnose defects. Avionics - Guidance & Control / Radio Communications. Jet Engine - Inspection, engine control rigging, and basic maintenance.
