As a Mechanic-in-Training, youll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services uninterrupted. Based at the North Hudson Sewerage Authority in Hoboken, New Jersey, youll have the opportunity to perform a variety of tasks in the preventive and corrective maintenance on water/wastewater treatment plants and related facilities equipment on an assigned shift. Youll contribute to the success of our program with efficient preventive maintenance and effective solutions to challenges that may arise in municipal facilities. Youll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, structures, grounds, machinery and equipment; lubricate equipment and check for malfunctions; replace packing in pumps or valves; replace bearings in motors, pumps, and other equipment; tune engines, set valve clearance, clean, and adjust regulators; examine equipment failures to identify cause and to prevent recurrences; and install and sets up new equipment. Youll also clean and paint interior and exterior equipment and buildings; lean out pipes and perform other plumbing and pipe fitting tasks as required; use gas and/or arc welding equipment to heat, cut, braze, or weld; perform duties of painter in their absence; assist in keeping maintenance records; and perform other duties as required. Most importantly, youlltake actionto ensure the safety, health and well-being of you and your team.
Here\'s What You\'ll Need:
A valid drivers license with no major infractions
Ideally, Youll Also Have:
Experience in the maintenance of wastewater treatment plants and related equipment, or similar maintenance experience
A valid Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) certification or ability to obtain within 3 years of date of hire
Experience in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Forklift experience
Experience in serving municipal utility client

A MECHANIC'S DAY-TO-DAY:
Abide by and maintain all safety procedures as required by Lucky Strike Entertainment and OSHA.

Fully understand how to operate all bowling equipment in the center
Adhere to all outlined preventative maintenance programs and monitor and perform daily center maintenance as instructed.
Take charge and ensure the shop and machine area is clean and organized.
Assisting the Senior Mechanic with the training of new Mechanics.
WHAT IT TAKES:
At least 1 year of Mechanical experience
High School Diploma with a strong emphasis on algebra, geometry, and applied mathematics (Optional)
Excellent communication skills
Ability to train new mechanics
Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended workdays
