Responsibilities:
Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained in order to diagnose equipment problems.
Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.

Assures the proper operation of a wide variety of mechanical machines and devices including pumps, engines, motors, conveyors, compressors, and laboratory equipment by observing mechanical machines in operation and listening to them to locate the source of malfunctions, lubricating and cleaning mechanical machines, dismantling the machines in order to repair or replace inoperative part such as belts, fans, motors, and pumps, and adjusting the machines to prescribed operating standards or performance rates.
Repairs existing structures according to work orders or verbal instructions by inspecting the work site to determine the materials, equipment, tool requirements, and methods to be used, developing a plan or lay out for the project or following a blueprint, sketch or schematic, assembling, fabricating or building and installing materials, equipment, or fixtures as required by the scope of work.

**Qualifications**
+ Knowledge of and experience with repairing, maintaining and conducting complete maintenance and overhauls of Boats.
+ Must have experience in installing or modifying Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems and other equipment installed on boats. Experience must include work completed on fiberglass and aluminum hull boats as well as outboard propulsion systems.
+ Experience conducting fiberglass and aluminum repairs is a plus. Having the capability to conduct aluminum hull weld repairs in accordance with American National Standards Institute/American Welding Society standard - ANSI/AWS D3.7. is desirable but not required.
+ Valid Driver's License is required and qualified candidates must be able to obtain a US Passport.
+ Able to lift 75lbs on occasion and work in tight and cramped spaces on small boats.
+ Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on the company's diesel trucks, forklifts, and equipment, ensuring their safe, efficient, and continuous operation. The mechanic also supports daily vehicle inspections to verify that each unit is in optimal condition before departure and upon return to the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Perform inspections on trucks before departure and upon return, verifying mechanical conditions, oil levels, brakes, lights, tires, and other safety components.
Execute preventive maintenance programs according to the schedule established by the Maintenance Department.
Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, suspension, steering, and cooling systems.
Provide on-site or roadside support across the island in case of mechanical breakdowns or emergencies.
Document all repairs, parts used, and work hours in maintenance logs or electronic records.
Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor for parts, tools, or material requests.
Comply with all occupational safety and environmental regulations established by the company and local authorities.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
Report any issues that may compromise safety or vehicle performance promptly.
Collaborate with the maintenance team on special projects, fleet improvements, or technical upgrades.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Technical certification in diesel or automotive mechanics (preferred).
Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable experience in diesel engine maintenance and repair.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong skills in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines (Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit, etc.).
Knowledge of electrical, electronic, and air brake systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical and mechanical diagrams.

Job Description
Cape Air's A&P Mechanics work independently or as a team member performing inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance on company aircraft.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Familiar with the policies and procedures contained in company manuals, submits changes as appropriate to eliminate conflicts and/or enhance operational effectiveness
Comply with 14 CFR (as applicable), manufacturer's specifications, company policies and procedures, as well as other methods accepted by the FAA, when accomplishing maintenance
Assist with completion of shift turnover reports in accordance with company procedures
Participate in shift meetings and briefings as required
Update aircraft fleet status information for Company aircraft as directed
Conduct on-the-job training as assigned by the Base-Manager/Supervisor
Properly executes maintenance work records
Maintain the maintenance work area in a clean and orderly condition
Adhere to material handling and control procedures specified in company manuals and by the equipment manufacturers
Responsible to open and/or close facility
Perform aircraft run-ups and taxis
Perform road trips to repair aircraft at stations other than the maintenance base
Clean aircraft after completing maintenance
Additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current A&P certificate required
Must meet the recent experience requirements as stated in 14 CFR 65.83
Minimum two years professional aircraft maintenance work experience preferred
Must have basic mechanical skills
Must own basic set of aircraft maintenance tools
Must take instruction and guidance well
Must be goal oriented, have an exceptional attention to detail, and must work well in team situations and also as an individual
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Must be able to perform moderately strenuous physical tasks which include bending, stooping, kneeling and working overhead for long periods of time
Must hold a valid US driver's license
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work any shift including nights, weekends and holidays
Must exhibit knowledge of Cape Air and embody the Cape Air MOCHA HAGoTDI spirit
