Position Purpose In a team oriented work environment, under minimal supervision, Structural Mech II performs a variety of structural assembly operations in a production department following established operating procedures. All work performed should be in accordance with company design specifications, quality standards and completed work should meet customer expectations. Essential Functions Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Safely perform assembly and fitting of detail parts and structures and varied drilling and riveting operations; ensures parts/assembly meet requirements. Safely perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft 2. Rivet structural assemblies and parts using all tools required to do the job (e.g. portable riveting guns, pneumatic guns, pneumatic drills, counter sinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers, rivets). Must display the ability to remove fasteners without damaging structure 3. Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations, type size and hole pattern for rivets, cut and form plastics and follow standard operating procedures when using adhesives, sealants, and solvents 4. Check all work and ensure a defective free assembly prior to final inspection 5. Maintain and use all logs and records (e.g. MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs) 6. Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners. Utilizing proper tooling, shape and form complex angles and configurations according to blueprint specifications or written/verbal information 7. Make repairs per Discrepant Material Tags (DMT), Material Review Request (MRR), Production Change Orders (PCO), performs necessary rework to ensure installations meet conformity 8. Maintain a neat and orderly work area, supports the company 5S Program, and complies with all safety regulations. Use personal protective equipment as required Additional Functions: 1. Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags 2. Ensure accurate daily job charging to the aircraft 3. Exchange job related information and coordinate work activities between shifts through turn over report meetings and direct contact with leadership 4. Assist in maintaining shop equipment and associated JSAs 5. Support Lean Activities Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements Must be able to read and interpret blue prints 2. Basic computer skills and basic shop math skills 3. Must be able to read a scale and perform basic shop math 4. Read and comprehend basic documents and instructions 5.     Job DescriptionThe Bryan County Board of Commissioners is now accepting applications for a Full Time Mechanic in our Maintenance Shop Department. This position is to perform skilled and semi-skilled repairs and maintenance of automobiles, light and heavy-duty trucks and other gasoline and diesel equipment. The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Performs skilled maintenance work including the repair, adjustment, and maintenance of motor vehicles and gasoline and diesel-powered construction equipment; changes oil, filters, and transmission fluid. Perform general overhaul work on internal combustion engines and all equipment components and accessories. Performs tune-ups of gasoline and diesel motors, adjusting timing mechanisms, carburetors, and fuel and ignition systems; replaces spark plugs and distributor caps. Adjust and realigns brakes; maintains hydraulic systems and electrical systems; assists in recharging and repairing air conditioning systems. Repair power mowers, air compressors and pneumatic accessories, pumps and related machinery, and small equipment. Installs and repairs vehicle scanners and radios; welds materials as needed; repairs and / or replaces tires. Picks up parts and supplies; maintains neatness and cleanliness of shop; cleans wash rack, changes fuel filter, and hose on steam cleaner. Assist with debris pick-up along roadways, posts road closing signs, cuts grass around shop, and performs other similar duties. Work is performed under direct supervision of the Maintenance Shop Superintendent or assigned supervisor. Performance is evaluated through observation and review of repairs performed. Punctuality and attendance are essential. Performs other related duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED required; additional vocational training in automotive and engine repair preferred; one year of experience as automotive or engine mechanic, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Four or more years' experience with NALCOMIS/OOMA Basic Corrosion Control Course Advanced Corrosion Control Course/Paint and Final Finish Hydraulic Contamination Qualification Aircraft Engine/APU Qualification Aircraft Jacking Qualification Previously certified F/A-18 and or F-35 CDI/CDQAR Basic Qualifications: Four or more years' F/A-18 or F-35 experience Low Observable Paint Qualified Individual (I) Aircraft Maintenance Qualification Must be able to work shift schedules as required per Performance Work Statement (PWS) Must be able to work work-week schedules i.e. M-F, Sn-Th or as required per PWS Must be able to pass a background check Must be able to obtain favorable National Agency Check with Written Inquires (NACI), IAW DTM-08-003 “Next Generation Common Access Card (CAC) Implementation Guidance Secret security clearance Must be able to climb ladders, raised platforms, and aircraft Must be able to use hand and power tools Must have dexterity to handle small parts Must be able to pass employment physicals Must be able to deploy to support off station exercises and perform other support duties if required Compensation $37.96/hour Other Compensation Employees will receive a health and welfare benefit of $2.65 for every hour worked. Benefits Employees are offered medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees can enroll in KAI's 401k plan. Employees have a minimum of eleven paid holidays. After completing one year of service, employees will have two weeks' paid vacation. Employment is contingent on (a) your ability to provide appropriate proof of your identity and eligibility to work in the United States; (b) your references and any background check being satisfactory to the Company; (c) you successfully passing a pre-employment drug test; and (d) your ability to get a required clearance by your effective start date, if needed; and (e) KAI commencing performance on this contract.
