Performs the appropriate vehicle/mobile equipment inspections and preventative maintenance. Performs required vehicle/mobile equipment repair maintenance. Informs supervisor of vehicle condition that could impact production. Prepares all required daily/weekly plant operating reports. WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH * Tests mechanical products and equipment to ensure proper performance, and compliance with manufacturer's specifications * Repairs and replaces damaged, worn parts * Operates and inspects heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects * Diagnoses faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices * Dismantles and reassembles heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools * Cleans, lubricates and performs routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles * Examines parts for damage and excessive wear, using micrometers or gauges * Schedules maintenance for industrial machines and equipment, and keeps equipment service records * Reads and interprets manuals, blueprints and technical drawings * Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems * Stays abreast of new technology and methodology through on-the-job training and technical schools * Adheres to all safety protocol to include confined space entry, lock-out-tag-out, working at heights, wearing appropriate safety glasses, gloves and other personal protective equipment, as well as all OSHA, MSHA requirement * Ability to work shifts as required * Other duties as assigned * Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. The aircraft mechanic is responsible for performing various maintenance functions on company aircraft in accordance with all company policies and procedures as well as all federal aviation regulations. Essential Functions The Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic (“A&P Mechanic”) is a working member of the maintenance organization and is tasked with completing required maintenance on aircraft in a timely manner and in accordance with policy and procedure. Enter completed work into maintenance tracking software systems. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with and implement the necessary procedures in the MEL/CDL/NEF Program. Monitor the proper completion of aircraft records (e.g., logbook pages, work cards, non-routines, engineering documents [EOs, EAs, etc.], and other related documents). Ensure accuracy and completeness of all assigned work documents and records. Make FMIS entries as required. Vol.D Maintain familiarization with the training requirements necessary as defined in the GMM 100: Maintenance Training Program and ensure training is current prior to performing the functions and tasks of this position. Other duties may be assigned. Ensure comprehension of assigned task(s) before initiating maintenance. If necessary, communicate concerns or questions with the Maintenance Supervisor. Perform maintenance with the highest quality of workmanship avoiding any act which may endanger personnel or cause damage to equipment and articles. Perform all maintenance using proper tools and equipment. Ensure that the manufacturer's safety precautions are taken before initiating maintenance. Complete Work Order package forms in accordance with the instructions contained in Appendix A of the Atlas Repair Station Manual. Notify the appropriate Supervisor immediately of any condition that arises which might represent a problem or unsafe condition. Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in a safe and orderly condition. The work environment consists of an air-conditioned hangar, with occasional outdoor work. Training provided by Atlas Aircraft Center, Inc. consists of extensive initial training to become familiar with both the AAC and the PlaneSense program.
