Job Description HOLT Truck Centers views the service department as a vital part of the dealership, and the way it builds open, honest, trusting relationships with customers and other departments is essential to the dealership's success. The main objective of the Service Technician is to diagnose and repair vehicle components and systems for the Service Department. Accountabilities Perform unsupervised work as outlined on major repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Complete major repairs within specified times Diagnosis, troubleshoot, and repair non-typical vehicle issues Engage with external manufacturers and warranty contacts to maximize reimbursement of services Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended Consult with service advisor about status of the vehicle repairs Provide technical expertise and guidance to all level of technicians Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events and make recommendations for other technicians within the shop Document all work performed and recommended on a repair order using accepted language Document all required information for the successful completion of a warranty claim Road test vehicles for evaluation purposes specifically for noise, vibration, and harshness to determine needed actions Ensure the customer's vehicles are kept clean. Notify the service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle Maintain a safe and clean work environment and recommend improvements for shop safety Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Identify issues with specialty tools and communicate to management. Make recommendations for tool replacement and inventory control Operate shop equipment safely, report safety issues, and recommend maintenance and repairs immediately to management Possess the ability to lead in a team environment Understand, keep abreast of current with, and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, EPA, and so on. Job description Title: Compressor Mechanic Pay: $30.00 - $45.00/HR As a Compressor Mechanic, you will play a vital role within our mechanical team, working closely with colleagues to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to compressor systems. Your expertise in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing compressors and engines will ensure the seamless operation of equipment in the field. Compressor Mechanics will have the Knowledge and Ability to Perform the Following: · Repair and Maintenance: Overhaul and maintain compressors ranging from 250 to 1200 HP. · Diagnosis: Independently and accurately diagnose engine/compressor failures. · Technical Skills: Utilize intermediate computer skills, including engine-specific software (Caterpillar), Internet Explorer, and Outlook. · Rebuilds/Overhauls: Lead comprehensive rebuilds and overhauls of compressors, engines, and controls under adverse conditions without supervision. · Troubleshooting: Address electrical systems, controls, and unit control panels such as Murphy, Altronic, and Allen Bradley. The Technician is a heavy equipment mechanic that specializes in maintaining and repairing cranes. This position may perform routine maintenance, like lubricating parts, as well as fixing other problems when the crane malfunction. The Technician position work in a safety-first type of environment. HCSG is a 24/7 service company that requires technicians to be available on-call and provide after hour or even weekend services as required due to customer needs. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Must be able to be on-call and provide after hour services as required. * Troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and upgrading industrial hoists and cranes in the field at customer locations. * Perform OSHA required hoist and crane inspections and generating inspection reports and repair orders. * Communicate with the Service Manager and Branch Manager during the day so that work can be scheduled and completed on a daily basis. * Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. Travel out of town may be required at the discretion of the company. WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is normally performed inside or outside (pending customer requirements) with varying degrees of extreme hot and cold temperatures depending on the weather. During summer months, temperatures can exceed 120 degrees. This position will be frequently exposed to noise, heights, fumes, dust, and odors.
