The Role:
We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Industrial Mechanic to repair and maintain complex machines and production equipment in a manufacturing environment. As an part of our team you will handle moderately complex issues and work with cross-functional teams to resolve, repair, and maintain machinery.
What You'll Be Doing:
Diagnose machinery and equipment malfunctions and determine complex repair requirements while evaluating if repairs can be completed internally or if a supplier must be contacted to complete the necessary repairs.
Identify and recommend appropriate parts for required repairs and/or preventative maintenance.
Assemble, install, and inspect new equipment and make modifications to existing equipment. May assist with determining repair specifications for special purpose equipment.
Repair and maintain electro-mechanical numerically controlled production equipment, special purpose, production machinery and related equipment.
Must be able to troubleshoot a variety of machinery and equipment in a manufacturing and production environment.
Required to use hand and power tools to repair, adapt or reassemble machinery and equipment parts. May on occasion build new parts.
Follow standard work to complete tasks as well as understand and work from various documents such as blueprints, wiring diagrams, machine specifications, etc.
Support the Company's 5S program to maintain work area, equipment and supplies in a neat, organized manner.
Recommend changes to outdated or ineffective procedures/ processes through the kaizen process.
Support Toyota Production System (TPS) driven processes and activities.
Performs related work as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
1 + years of related experience in machinery repair in a factory/warehouse environment.
Understanding and working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or basic electronic principles and machine operations
A high school diploma or GED

This position second shift 2pm - 12:30am and is four (10) hour days . Thursday through Sunday.
What Your Total Compensation & Benefits Package will look like:
Wage - $20.44 - $30.38 per hour plus a 10% shift premium. Compensation depends on the selected candidate's education and experience.

Responsibilities:
Install, disassemble, repair, and maintain equipment.
Safe repair and troubleshooting of malfunctioning mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation systems, the calibration of instruments, and performing mechanical, preventive, and predictive maintenance.

Work with industrial electricity (motor controls) to troubleshoot and repair electrical components and machinery including all three phase 480, 240 and other plant systems.
Calibrate all plant instrumentation in a wide variety of makes and types specifications (i.e., temperature, flow, pH, vacuum, pressure, Foxboro, Honeywell, Micromotion, Fischer, Anderson, etc.).
Perform cleaning duties as required.
Perform work in a safe manner by following safety procedures and policies, critical safety rules, and expected standard conduct.
Follow the company's good manufacturing and safety policies and procedures. Maintain housekeeping in area (i.e., toolboxes).
Communicate effectively with co-workers, team leads, and supervisors
Able to obtain plant forklift certification as needed
Participates on the plant safety team.
Participates in and implements continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
At least 5 years experience in a similar maintenance mechanic role.
Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Must be able to speak, read, and write effectively.
Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7-day operation.
Must be able to work up to 12.5 hour scheduled shifts (Pittman schedule).
Prior experience in a similar maintenance mechanic role with electrical background.
Prior experience of utility systems, electrical controls, and schematic reading.
Ability to troubleshoot and replace AC frequency drives and instrumentation

Maintain and repair of kitchen equipment including, but not limited to, stoves, refrigerators, microwaves, and dishwashers.
Maintain preventive maintenance schedules in accordance with departmental policies.
Safely operate a variety of college owned vehicles and equipment.
Review service requests from the computerized service request system and update requests as needed.
Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
Effectively communicate with members of the Office of Facilities and members of campus community via phone, email, and in person.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 3 years or 6,000 hours experience in at least one skilled area. Knowledge of refrigeration, air conditioning, and mechanical system repair. Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work as part of a team and with occasional independent assignments, with minimal supervision and the ability to lift and carry 80 lbs. Experience and ability to operate a variety of power/hand tools and testing devices, possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and adherence to the requirements of the Office of Risk Management. Work Environment:
Most of the work of the incumbent is carried out within a generally accessible, safe, indoor/outdoor environment. The incumbent must be able to operate power/hand tools used in day-to-day operation of duties. The incumbent may be required to use scaffolding, lifts, climb ladders and stand for long periods of time while using power/hand tools and equipment. Personal Protection Equipment, safety shoes and FR clothing may be required. The incumbent may also be working with hazardous materials. There will be times when the use of ventilators and respirators will be required. Tools and footwear provided.
This position is 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Responsibilities:
Install, disassemble, repair, and maintain equipment.
Safe repair and troubleshooting of malfunctioning mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation systems, the calibration of instruments, and performing mechanical, preventive, and predictive maintenance.
Safe operation of the associated equipment and/or processes, the quality of incoming raw materials, the quality of the outgoing products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safe work practices.
Ability to write SOP's on new and existing equipment.
Perform mechanical duties such as pumps, valves, conveyor work, sprockets, gearboxes, etc.
Complete preventive maintenance work orders.
Work with industrial electricity (motor controls) to troubleshoot and repair electrical components and machinery including all three phase 480, 240 and other plant systems.
Calibrate all plant instrumentation in a wide variety of makes and types specifications (i.e., temperature, flow, pH, vacuum, pressure, Foxboro, Honeywell, Micromotion, Fischer, Anderson, etc.).
Perform cleaning duties as required.
Perform work in a safe manner by following safety procedures and policies, critical safety rules, and expected standard conduct.
Follow the company's good manufacturing and safety policies and procedures. Maintain housekeeping in area (i.e., toolboxes).
Communicate effectively with co-workers, team leads, and supervisors
Able to obtain plant forklift certification as needed
Participates on the plant safety team.
Participates in and implements continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
At least 5 years experience in a similar maintenance mechanic role.
Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Must be able to speak, read, and write effectively.
Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7-day operation.
Must be able to work up to 12.5 hour scheduled shifts (Pittman schedule).
Prior experience in a similar maintenance mechanic role with electrical background.
Prior experience of utility systems, electrical controls, and schematic reading.
Ability to troubleshoot and replace AC frequency drives and instrumentation
All other duties as assigned.
