The ideal candidate is interested in an autonomous work environment where they contribute to projects through the entire product development cycle; beginning with initial concept generation through detailed design and analysis, hardware fabrication, and finally verification testing. This position will focus on developing state-of-the-art structures and mechanisms for satellites, launch vehicles, and missile defense applications. Specific products include multiple payload launch structures, deployable satellite antennas, ground support equipment, optical payloads, and spacecraft mechanisms Summary We have a current opportunity for a Mechanical Test Engineer 1 located at our facility in Albuquerque, NM. In this role you will support technical test team focusing on developmental, characterization and qualification level testing for novel spacecraft technologies. You will also design the test plans, hardware and scripts required to validate deliverable space-grade hardware. Ensuring mission success by validating our hardware will work as intended in the extreme environmental conditions of outer space after a turbulent launch assent. You will have the opportunity to work on projects of all sizes form small components to large payload adapters/dispensers.
