Apply Computational Fluid Dynamics to analyze fluid flow and heat transfer and use the results to optimize designs. Run feasibility studies, perform engineering calculations, and build simulations to enhance equipment performance. Create detailed CAD models, assemblies, drawings, and specs for manufacturing and assembly. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other fluid systems in production environments. Partner with electrical/controls engineers to integrate mechanical designs with automation, PLCs, and motion control. Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and internal policies. Produce clear technical reports, documentation, and project updates for stakeholders. Source and evaluate components with vendors and suppliers to support system upgrades. Other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline. 2+ years of experience in mechanical equipment design, modification, or maintenance. Knowledge, skills, and abilities Deep understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, filtration, and conveyance operations. CAD proficiency (Fusion 360 or similar) for mechanical design and documentation. Hands-on experience with CFD tools (ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, or similar). Background in machinery troubleshooting, process optimization, and system integration. Familiar with manufacturing processes, material selection, and fabrication techniques. Knowledge of industrial automation, PLCs, and motion control systems. Ability to diagnose mechanical and fluid-system failures and implement corrective actions. Experience in heavy industrial, material handling, or processing environments. Working knowledge of FEA alongside CFD. Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or reliability engineering practices. Experience in weld design. Hands-on PLC integration and control system programming. Project management, organization, time management, problem solving, and core software skills to drive data-driven decisions and results.
