As a member of the Munters Design team, you will hold an important role in designing custom HVAC equipment for Data Centers and other commercial clients. The position will be located in the Daleville, VA facility.
JOB SUMMARY
The Designer is responsible for creating assembly instructions and drawings. Position requires the constant exercise of discretion and judgment to create three dimensional models of prospective equipment in a manner that is compatible with available manufacturing techniques and equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Uses SolidWorks software to create 3D models and detail sheet metal parts, model components and assemblies. Requires a high level of mechanical understanding to visualize equipment.
The Designer is responsible for producing bills of materials for additional parts required by assemblies.
Produce documentation for assembly instructions and use of jigging or fixturing for proper assembly of products.
Provides support to manufacturing personnel to resolve design and assembly issues.
Uses proper design principles when incorporating dampers, louvers, fans, coils, heaters, and other components as required.
Take part in continuous product improvement activities and play an active part in improving designs and documentation supplied to manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge:Advance knowledge of three-dimensional modeling techniques.
Advance knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and assembly
General knowledge of mechanical/HVAC principals
Skills Working knowledge of Microsoft office software
High mechanical and problem-solving aptitude.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Detail oriented with excellent follow-through skills.
Ability to visualize equipment based on basic information for first time builds.
Education/Experience Entry level position, applicants with mechanical aptitude will be considered.
Two-year degree or 1 - 3 years' work experience in 3D CAD modeling preferred.

ACCOUNTABILITY Perform design duties on all projects while working with other designers and BIM design staff to deliver a quality product on schedule. Interacts with other designers and clients as authorized by Project Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Act as the primary designer on a project. Shall include all phases of a project from kick-off to completion of construction
Coordinate all design aspects with other disciplines
Provide schematic design information to Project Manager or senior-level design staff such as preliminary calculations, design distribution, equipment sizing, and providing cut sheets of all equipment proposed
Make calculations using engineering formulas and software for design
