Key job responsibilities

- Actively participate in firm engineering reviews, and make tangible impact on the proposed solutions on an individual system or its components, on the overall systems architecture, and on facility processes.
- Partner with internal teams, stakeholders and external vendors to set project priorities, establish milestones, and drive schedules to meet deadlines. Proactively assess stakeholders' dependencies and milestones, problem-solve and drive solutions to mitigate the impact from the issues.
- Lead and coordinate all execution efforts in delivering systems and automated equipment designs per established standards and guidelines. Perform equipment/systems installation, throughput and safety qualifications. Simplify, optimize, remove bottlenecks and provide feedback while resolving difficult system problems or technical deficiencies.
- Lead effective meetings by setting the objectives, putting the right people in the room and driving detailed business and technical discussions/alignment. Document meetings discussions, decisions and future steps ensuring alignment on expectations with internal partner teams and outside vendors.
- Promptly and accurately communicate project status, risk analysis and risk mitigation plans. Effectively answer project questions in detail, and regularly produce clear and concise summaries for the projects to leadership/management team.
- Competently articulate system and/or equipment designs, including layouts, technical specifications and functional capabilities, to internal customers and partner teams.
- Efficiently manage change order controls, purchase orders, and invoice validation/approvals.
- Excel at building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple projects
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives that improve the Engineering and cross-teams' efficiencies, optimizing the teams' value and delivery. Through collaboration, generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in compressed periods of time.
- Travel up to 80% domestically although travel intensity can be variable and consist of up to three weeks in a row, including weekends.
A day in the life
You are managing quality of implementation through multiple projects that can vary in scope, complexity and duration.
Daily tasks may comprise of site coordination with operations teams and contractors on project execution activities or changes; deep diving project progress, schedule and resources, while identifying barriers, creating solutions and driving resolutions. You may be facilitating the planning and/or implementation meetings with projects' stakeholders, ensuring alignment in objectives, expectations, and the next steps; you would capture and publish detailed notes after each meeting to drive ownership and follow-through on the actions and decisions. Reviewing/approving audit mechanisms and documentation is one of the essential tasks, and you may be tracking the programmatic week on week installation opportunities with the internal automation teams. You may be brainstorming and developing workaround solutions while mitigating the project delays or design issues. As a part of the acceptance testing you may be performing systems installation quality, safety, throughput and performance qualifications, frequently communicating the progress to internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you may be supporting/training other engineering team members, utilizing the knowledge of Amazon's safety, mechanical, electrical and controls installation standard and guidelines.

Basic Qualifications
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, MechanicalEngineering, or other STEM field

Initiates, identifies, recommends, and leads projects in the manufacturing area of responsibility to improve product cost, service, quality, process safety and health/environmental impact
Responsible for performing and guiding technical activities resulting from approved, self-initiated, or assigned manufacturing programs leading to innovative applications and extensions of existing or new products/technologies having major importance to the business
Actively participate in the day-to-day operations, specifically daily tier process, MOC process (change management), KPI determination, reporting and analysis leading to resolution of any gaps in performance
Lead improvement projects and problem-solving events to determine root causes for problems that occur and implement permanent long-term solutions to resolve those problems, (CAPA).
Monitor and improve manufacturing operations using Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology (design of experiments, statistical process control, lean management system, kaizens, DMAIC)
Drive process understanding (PPU) efforts and product change processes to support business portfolio needs.
Work closely with production and maintenance teams to perform troubleshooting activities and resolve equipment/downtime issues.
Utilize strong communication skills to inspire, influence, motivate and teach other team members.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
Two (2) years of manufacturing engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Three (3) years of manufacturing engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Experience with Non-Woven and/or abrasives manufacturing
Experience in urethane and epoxy chemistry
Experience with applied data analysis and/or statistical process control (SPC)
Continuous Improvement and/or LEAN systems development, implementation, and execution

Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the Oak Hills manufacturing plant in Oak Hills, CA.
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in the development, preparation, and finalization of project schedule.
Responsible for procuring and submitting all project submittal information as well as managing the approval process.
Responsible for assisting with the administration of the subcontract requirements, contract documents, and change orders.
Coordinate communications and correspondences from owners, general contractors, and subcontractors.
Ensure project quality control procedures are followed during construction process, in accordance with the contract documents and ISEC policies and procedures.

This role is responsible for creating detailed CAD models/drawings, validating designs, installing products & participating in the testing of products. The MechanicalDesignEngineer will be working on brand new product lines, expanding existing product lines & finding ways to reduce cost and improve existing products.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Create detailed engineering drawings and solid models using SolidWorks software.
Benchmark existing products through testing, measurements and material analysis.
Perform stress analysis using SolidWorks Simulation (FEA)
Work to improve existing products by analyzing underperforming parts and implementing improvements.
Use QC/Measurement equipment to measure sample parts.
Review Engineering drawings for accuracy of tolerances and fitment.
Review & redline Engineering drawings of other Engineering personnel.
Work with quality team to determine inspection and test requirements.
Review test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance requirements.
Update management on project progression in Wrike and during recurring meetings. Adjust priorities based on feedback.
Work directly with partner companies to design/develop products and resolve technical issues.
Perform market research to help identify & define new product opportunities.
Analyze and resolve technical issues from manufacturers and implement changes if needed.
Create clear, detailed installation and assembly instructions for technicians and end users.
Manage and populate BOMs for all designed components to ensure accurate documentation.
Lead and assist in the installation and/or removal of prototype suspension, steering or drivetrain products.
Requirements
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in MechanicalEngineering or related field, with at least 5 years design experience.
Education and/or experience in gear design, suspension, sheet-metal & steering design preferred.
Knowledge and use of QA/QC inspection equipment, including basic measurement tools, micrometers, height gage, thread gages, dial indicators. 3D scan experience a plus.
Knowledge of Mechanical drafting standards, ANSI standards & document control.
3D Solid modeling experience, and/or SolidWorks experience required.
Product Development experience with a focus on automotive aftermarket products preferred.
Knowledge and Personal Attributes:
