Job DescriptionDescription: The Design Engineer is responsible for the design, qualification, and certification of aerospace, commercial and military components that include both metallic and non-metallic (composite and polymer) materials. PROJECT ENGINEER JOB SUMMARY The Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting with contract management, change order preparation and project scheduling updating, quantity tracking and progress billing quantities/construction units for invoicing preparation. The Project Engineer assists superintendents with resource allocation and coordination, estimating, and material pricing/project buyout. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Actively participates in project safety programs, observations and audits. Assists Project Managers and Superintendents with project related tasks. Tracks and reports quantities of work performed and understands associated costs of such. Communicates productivities to field staff. Understands and communicates contract scope to field staff. Serves as liaison and ensures communication between the field and office. Acts as the primary engineer and contract administrator on small and mid size projects. Assists in identifying and promoting changes to improve productivities and quality on the project. Effectively communicates with Project Owner/Designer/Architect/Engineering regarding project schedule, issues and activities occurring on the project. Develops RFI's, work plans and submittals for the project. Assists in monthly financial reporting projections. Develops extra work or change order negotiation pricing. Develops time and material final pricing submittals. Drafts purchase orders and subcontract agreements for review by the Project Manager. Assists with CPM schedule development and maintenance. Maintains as-built drawings with assistance from field staff. Performs project specific tasks assigned by higher level manager.
