* Coordinate with OE, EPC, Power Island Suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project success.
* Promote safety and contribute to a positive team culture.
* Support multi-disciplinary, multi-year capital projects with high complexity and value.
* Evaluate mechanical system designs including piping layouts, rotating equipment, heat exchangers, and auxiliary systems.
* Review and develop specifications for major mechanical equipment such as gas turbines (GT), steam turbines (ST), heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), pumps, and cooling systems.
* Ensure proper integration of GT, ST, HRSG, and balance-of-plant (BOP) systems.
* Advise on equipment layout and reliability improvements.
* Participate in vendor evaluations and ensure technical compliance.
* Witness FATs for critical mechanical components.
* Monitor delivery schedules and inspect mechanical installations including piping, valves, and rotating equipment alignment.
* Onsite lead for all mechanicalengineering RFIs and oversight.
Education and Experience Requirements:
This position requires a minimum bachelor's degree in mechanicalengineering with at least 4 years of engineering experience in mechanical design, construction, or commissioning for power generation or industrial projects. The applicant must be willing to work nights and weekends as needed. Chemical and Industrial Engineers will also be considered.
Additional Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. Familiarity with ASME codes and mechanical standards. Ability to interpret P&IDs, piping layouts, and equipment specifications. Experience with gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, and BOP systems in combined cycle or simple cycle applications. The successful candidate must possess high initiative and strong interpersonal skills and exhibit good computer skills.
Licenses or Certificates Required:
Must have valid driver's license.
Must have satisfactory work record including good attendance.
EIT or PE is preferred
Working Conditions:
Must have the ability to perform the physical activities of the job. Requires extensive on-site plant work with some office work. Requires the ability to work outdoors and in an industrial plant environment including, but not limited to, exposure to ambient temperature extremes, dusty/moist environments, climbing ladders and stairways, working at heights on elevated structures and platforms, and working in cramped spaces occasionally which may require bending, stooping, and standing. Travel is expected to development sites at least 10% of the time up to 100% during peak construction and commissioning. Extensive in-state and out of state travel required.

Job Description
As a summer 2026 engineering student intern, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You'll be part of a team, working for our clients on projects with our experienced engineers. You assist with mechanical system designs, including HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems, for high-impact federal infrastructure projects. These include VA hospitals, DoD facilities, medical centers, data centers, and other government buildings that serve veterans, military personnel, and federal agencies. You will also assist in preparing calculations, writing technical reports, and producing construction documents in Revit.
