ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking an Energy Engineer to join our growing Energy Services team. In this role, you'll support energy conservation and efficiency projects across a wide variety of facilities-including higher education, healthcare, government, K-12, and industrial environments. You'll conduct field audits, analyze utility data, build energy savings models, develop technical solutions, and collaborate closely with internal teams to support proposals and project execution. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys blending technical analysis with client interaction and creative problem-solving. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct facility energy surveys and engage directly with customers throughout the audit process Analyze utility data and summarize findings to support project development Develop energy savings calculations, refine models, and validate assumptions Create clear technical write-ups, spreadsheets, and solution documentation Collaborate with project managers and estimators to support cost modeling Support audit efforts as the audit lead or technical lead Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, customers, vendors, and partners Stay up-to-date on industry technologies, best practices, and relevant certifications Support special projects, proposals, presentations, and training activities Travel occasionally for site visits, audits, and customer meetings QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field 3+ years of experience in energy engineering, building systems, energy efficiency, or related fields Working knowledge of energy systems across commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities Strong analytical and mathematical skills High proficiency with Excel; strong Microsoft Office and PDF skills Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal Ability to manage your own schedule, prioritize tasks, and work both independently and collaboratively Valid driver's license and reliable transportation E.M. certification is a plus Must be willing to travel occasionally S. citizenship is required WHY JOIN US Opportunity to contribute to meaningful energy conservation and sustainability projects Collaborative team environment with high visibility to leadership A role that blends technical engineering, fieldwork, and client interaction Professional development support, including training and relevant certifications Chance to work on diverse facilities and complex systems Stable and growing company with a strong reputation in Energy Services BG is proud to be an EOE and Drug-Free Workplace.
