Key Responsibilities
Technical & Operational Support

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Construction Engineering - or equivalent technical experience.
2-5 years of experience in construction equipment, fleet management, or field engineering.
Strong understanding of heavy equipment systems (hydraulic, mechanical, electrical).
Familiarity with equipment telematics, diagnostics, and maintenance management software.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel regularly to project sites.
Preferred Skills
Experience with major construction equipment (Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, John Deere, etc.).

Create and manage detailed engineering drawings/design data (3D and 2D), utilizing Catia 3DExperience (3DX) by applying a high standard of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Generate detailed DFMEA and DVP&R documentation

Position Overview:
The product development team is responsible for designing battery pack modules and system enclosures that define the direction of our future products. It is also responsible for maintaining and supporting current production programs to provide design-focused support and technical issue resolution.
As a member of this engineering team, you will work in a lead role who is responsible for driving the mechanical design, system architecture, structural integrity, design documentation, manufacturability of battery packs to ensure that we follow entire product development cycle till successful launch. This role combines deep mechanicalengineering expertise with strong systems thinking, cross-functional leadership, and a drive for innovation and product excellence. You will be the component manager from the concept through production, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, thermal, vibration, structural, and manufacturability requirements.
About the Role - You will:
* Design high quality mechanical and electromechanical part and assembly designs efficiently and with good modeling practices
* Develop cost effective, innovative and weight-optimized structural solutions to meet thermal, NVH, and crash safety requirements
* Create and manage detailed engineering drawings/design data (3D and 2D), utilizing Catia 3DExperience (3DX) by applying a high standard of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
* Generate detailed DFMEA and DVP&R documentation
* Responsible for the development of technical project plans and schedules covering engineering activities, meeting all design control and product development SOP requirements

Job Description
BLE is a growing company of over 210 engineers, geologists, technicians, and support staff with offices in Asheville, North Carolina and Greenville, South Carolina. Our Asheville location provides geotechnical consulting and construction materials testing services to local and regional clients in commercial, residential, industrial, health care, institutional, waste management, and public sectors. We also provide specialized consulting and design services for dams, retaining walls, slopes, and this position is a key part of these specialized service offerings. The successful candidate will support the traditional geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and dam engineering groups within the office as an experienced geotechnical engineer.
Responsibilities:
Individual will serve as a Project Engineer within the Construction Materials Testing Department. Specific engineering and project management tasks will include, but not be limited to, oversight of inspections and testing of soils (evaluation of soil bearing capacity and density); reinforced concrete and masonry; modular retaining wall construction, structural steel inspections, evaluation of laboratory data; inspection of shallow and deep foundation installation; and monitoring of asphalt placement.
Individual will have a responsibility for generating fees through management and development of existing and new client relationships. Actively participate in marketing and new client development activities with business developments staff. Maintain existing client relationships and pursue new relationships with potential clients.
Individual will complete project proposals and develop estimated costs and budgets along with other proposal deliverables.
Individual will be responsible for review of project specifications and special inspection requirements on his/her assigned projects and to review daily inspection reports. All reports are to be reviewed, signed, and provided as a deliverable to the client and project distribution in a timely manner.
Willingness to make project site visits to review construction activities, review site inspector activities, develop relationships with contractor and/or owners, and to provide engineering support when required.
Monthly invoicing on assigned projects will be reviewed and approved by Senior Engineer
Help develop, train, and mentor less experienced professional staff and technicians.
Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with clients, coworkers, field staff, and management.
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspections consulting, Geotechnical Engineering, and Project Management.
Must have at least a bachelor's degree in civil engineering
Needs to have current standing as a Professional Engineer (PE) in North Carolina or the ability to obtain PE licensure through reciprocity.
Should have experience in managing multiple on-going projects, scheduling, and evaluation or review of project budgets.
Individual must be able to clearly communicate and work effectively with clients and other department staff.
Would prefer an individual with knowledge of the Upstate development and construction market. area and already has established contacts with potential clients.
Individual must be self-motivated and can able to effectively manage time and work priorities of themselves and field staff.

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. Our Geotechnical Group focuses on serving projects for our local municipal, industrial, residential, and commercial clients. These projects span a multitude of geotechnical support roles, from geotechnical exploration to geotechnical support during construction.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field
Licensed Professional Engineering (PE) in South Carolina or ability to obtain reciprocity where firm operates.
Minimum 5-12 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and/or materials testing with 3+ years in a supervisory or management role
Knowledge of geotechnical design and construction requirements.
Knowledge of geosynthetics
Skills & Competencies
Apply advanced knowledge of civil and geotechnical engineering principles to project design, analysis, and problem-solving.
Conduct technical analyses, calculations, and design for various engineering projects, including but not limited to site development, foundation design, retaining walls, earthwork, and pavements.
Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, drawings, and other project documentation.
Utilize engineering software and tools for design, modeling, and data analysis (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GeoStudio, gINT, Tablogs).
Perform site investigations, field inspections, and data collection to support project objectives.
Interpret and apply relevant local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and industry standards (e.g. ASTM, IBC).
