Responsibilities
+ Design and develop structures, subassemblies, and mechanical components of truck and trailer bodies or ambulances using CAD software such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD Inventor.
+ Create detailed 3D models of sheet metal parts, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings with appropriate tolerances and material specifications.
+ Perform engineering calculations and analyses (structural, load, and performance) to validate designs.

Essential Skills

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain firm understanding of project phases from kick-off to close-out.
Work to accomplish the following tasks as a technical lead:
1. Preliminary Engineering Due Diligence
2. Research Federal, State and Local Government Agencies as Required for Land Development Projects.
3. Develop Conceptual Plans Based on Research and Client Requests
4. Generate necessary engineering design computations to support the design.
5. Prepare Construction Plans required for the project.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program
1-4 years of experience as a Professional Engineer (PE) in a consulting engineering environment (preferred)
NC Licensed Professional Engineer (or if licensed outside NC, ability to obtain NC license within one year)
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (O365) applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Knowledge of AutoCAD - Civil 3D strongly preferred
