    The candidate will be responsible for the design of mechanical, plumbing and utility systems for industrial food processing facilities. The primary applications include steam, compressed air, chilled water, hot water, domestic water, HVAC/Refrigeration, natural gas, plumbing and other process-related systems. Required skills include HVAC heat load calculations (knowledge of HVAC load calculation software) and diversities, industrial ventilation design, equipment specification, selections and alternatives, controls and sequencing of operations, pressurization and hygienic zoning, knowledge of current industry refrigerant regulations, etc. It is assumed the candidate can design such systems with limited direction, can mentor others, and be capable of supervising the work of other engineers and designers while serving as the lead engineer on any given project. The candidate must have a working knowledge of the International Mechanical Code, International Energy Code, International Plumbing Code, International Fuel Gas Code, ASHRAE Standards, LEED, specification writing, etc. The candidate will be responsible for man-hour estimating, conceptual development, detailed design, calculations, construction level documents, written specifications, responding to RFIs, shop drawings and submittal review, site inspection visits, and oversight of Revit production resources and record drawings. The role at times may require independent work or the need to manage team members assigned to their projects, while ensuring project requirements, schedule, and overall document quality are met. Inter-discipline coordination, BIM clash detection, shop drawing review, and site inspections will be required. The candidate must be a team player and committed to the quality of work generated. - A minimum of 15 years of mechanical, plumbing and utility systems design experience. - Revit MEP experience highly preferred. - A Professional Engineering license, in good standing, is required in a minimum of (1) one state. NCEES registration is preferred. - 10% travel required. - Additional tenure/experience may warrant advanced title/compensation. - Preference will be given to candidates willing to relocate to our Jacksonville HQ, or to one of our regional office locations, which include Stevens Point, WI, and Boulder, CO.
