As a **Mechanical Engineer II** you will work on specific technical projects for the purpose of planning, designing and/or developing products, tools, machines and other mechanical improvements to escalator/elevator systems. May oversee installation, operation, maintenance and repair of such equipment. Works closely with other engineering disciplines in the development and application of designs to improve product quality, efficiency and reliability.

+ Translates technical guidance received from supervisor into usable engineering data applicable to particular assignments.
+ May occasionally be required to guide technicians or drafters on specific projects.

+ Works closely with Project managers and supports Pre-Bid requirements.

+ Carries out assignments associated with design or development and manufacture of specific parts, components or minor phases of a project

+ May coordinate the activities of Level I engineers or technicians assigned to specific projects.

+ Works closely with other engineering disciplines in the development and application of methods to increase production quality, efficiency, or volume.

+ Work with other departments to improve processes. Work with external field personnel to develop installation methodology for new designs.

**Competencies:** Knows and uses well the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of field of specialization. Possesses technical writing ability and able to use Computer Aided Design methods (Auto-CAD, Pro-E, and Mechanical). Ability to read scientific and technical journals, literature, abstracts, financial reports, and legal documents. Able to apply concepts of analytic geometry, differentiations and integration of algebraic functions with applications.
