Essential Functions

Identify potential for cost reduction through extended asset life, reduce labor cost, and other asset/practices-related improvement techniques.
Work closely with the Maintenance Manager and property risk consultants to assure, applicable code compliance fire system maintenance, equipment reliability and inspections are scheduled and complete with minimal risk of mechanical or system failures.
Ensure health and safety standards are included and adhered to in written procedures and training.
Active involvement in the plant safety and quality effort and the assurance of all plant safety, housekeeping, regulatory, and policies within the assigned area.
Stay current in maintenance reliability technologies and best practices through trade magazines, seminars, and facility reliability conventions.
Lead Capital Equipment Improvement projects as needed in support of on-going Reliability and Mechanical improvements.
Assist with on-going efforts to create and maintain equipment bill of materials (BOM).

Skill & Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering is required. Will consider candidates with other engineering disciplines along with commensurate mechanical experience.
A minimum of 5 years as a mechanical engineer. Sugar beet processing, sugar refining, food processing, or similar industrial process experience is preferred.
Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, automation controls, etc.
Demonstrated experience with equipment reliability, as well as preventive and predictive maintenance, including lubrication, oil analysis, vibration analysis, thermography, etc.
Experience using continuous improvement tools like Lean Six Sigma and Root Cause Analysis.
Proficiency in evaluation of machine or component failure analysis, selection of maintenance materials, processes, and development of ongoing improvement of maintenance systems, practices and efficiencies.

Our client, a well-established Manufacturer of Food Processing Equipment, is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer proficient in Solidworks who is familiar with both the Food Industry as well as Metal Manufacturing (welding, fabrication, CNC Machining) to work onsite at their Omaha, NE location, managing 3 to 5 concurrent projects from design to completion. Responsibilities:
Monday - Friday, 7am - 3: 30pm shift
Create drawings, specifications and perform calculations to design precision equipment to meet the customers' expectations, timelines and requirements in the food processing industry
Design a complete project, system, component, and/or individual piece of custom equipment from concept to manufacturing, including assembly and testing
Reverse engineer or create new parts for existing or newly designed equipment
Generate bill of materials and drawings for manufacturing
Use Continuous Improvement methodology for design modifications

**The Job You Will Perform:**
+ Responsible for engineering and managing the installation of equipment within corrugated manufacturing facilities.
+ Directly responsible to assure all capital and repair projects assigned are installed as per the project scope, schedule, cost estimate and budget, and with minimum plant production interference.
+ Reports to the Project Engineer Lead in PSNA Engineering. The PL of this role may vary (PL 14, 15 or 16) according to candidate skill set and experience.
+ Lead the project management of multiple, concurrent projects involving installation of corrugated manufacturing equipment and/or plant infrastructure improvements.
+ Project management responsibilities include organizing/planning, scoping & bidding, coordination of schedule, and managing the project to fruition.

+ Act as the subject matter expert and discussion partner to Packaging Solutions North America (PSNA) facilities on all aspects of the corrugated manufacturing process, and project implementation.
**The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring:**
+ BS degree or equivalent experience in engineering or related business discipline.
+ 5+ years corrugated box industry experience including a detailed understanding of corrugated equipment, the corrugating process and applicable OSHA health & safety policies/laws.
+ Requires understanding of engineering process and the mechanical, electrical, and scheduling/organizational requirements for corrugated equipment installations.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project.
+ Proficiency with AutoCAD software to create, view and modify drawings for comparative evaluation and final project construction/installation; utilize AutoCAD software to create and modify plant layouts, equipment layouts & foundation drawings for contractor bid packages.
+ Advanced project management skills with experience managing multiple, current, major and minor engineering projects.

PROJECT ENGINEERING FAMILY - CORE

• Participates with project QA/QC planning to ensure quality for assigned tasks.
• Learns and participates in the estimating and change management process and tools, including quantity take-off and review of subcontractor proposals.

• Participates in activities such as punch lists, city inspections, safety reviews, quality reviews and preparation of the necessary documentation.

Felsburg Holt & Ullevig (FHU) is seeking an experienced self-motivated mid-level engineer with demonstrated success at assisting with or leading project management duties and responsibilities, implementing project designs utilizing the latest computer aided software, techniques and skills to deliver multimodal transportation corridors, roadway, highway/interchange and multi-use trail projects for our state and municipal clients. Additionally, the position offers to ability to be actively involved in business development, marketing and growth of the office. Essential Duties include the following under the direct supervision of a lead design engineer or project manager:
Works on a range of projects, from conceptual design to small intersections to larger multidisciplinary corridor projects.
Oversee data collection, technical analyses and written documentation
Participate in and presents project findings, technical analysis in writing and at client meetings, technical group gatherings, and day or evening public meetings/hearings
Work in multi-disciplinary teams across the FHU Great Plains region to evaluate alternatives, prepare technical findings, prepare project plans, and cost estimating
Assist with or take lead role on project management responsibilities including setting project team schedules, communicating and tracking project budgets, preparing invoices, leading client interactions including project communications, meetings and project submittals.
Use computer aided design engineering software (Civil3D and/or MicroStation/ OpenRoads) as the primary transportation design modeler as well as plan production for various sized transportation engineering projects.

Participates in the planning, estimation, preparation of proposals as well as other competitive project pursuit elements including client interviews
Participate in business development efforts including client visits, professional societies and marketing events
Requirements
Apply Federal, State, and Municipal design standards as appropriate, including IowaDOT, SUDAS, and Nebraska DOT standards.
Maintain an organized electronic or hard copy design journal for each project
Follow FHU's Total Quality Management program for all tasks and deliverables
Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
5 or more years of Transportation Engineering in Roadway Design experience
Certificates, licenses, registrations: Professional Engineer License or active pursuit of Professional Engineer License in Iowa or Nebraksa. Licensed in South Dakota or Kansas is a plus.
Experience with Civil3D and/or MicroStation/Open Roads is preferred
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred
