DESCRIPTION:
The Project Engineer monitors activities at construction job sites. This includes working to ensure construction is progressing as scheduled and contract specifications are adhered to.
As a Project Engineer at Tutor Perini Building Corp., reporting to the Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to:
Inspect construction site daily and works with contractors to schedule deliveries
Interpret designs and drawings for crafts installing materials
Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interference, and errors
Prepare field design change requisitions and “as built” drawings
Prepare and disseminate all required documentation records such as status reports and punch lists
Verify that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings and specifications
Attend meetings with other contractors, clients, or A/E representatives to coordinate design and construction efforts
Develop checklists for project closeout documentation in conjunction with specifications
Coordinate quality control activities with the construction schedule
Assist Contracts Manager with scope gaps
Research and propose solutions to quality control issues
Create, process, and propose solutions and administers RFI's
Set-up job specific concrete log, as well as reviews and maintains concrete log
Coordinate MEP start-up and commission meetings and overhead and underground coordination
Create scheduling construction sequence, logistics and drawings
Understand and comply with company's safety program and remedial safety procedures
Coordinate changes in mock-ups and/or shop drawings and specifications
Oversee Quantity Take-off's as project requires
Oversee project related pricing/budgets
Develops procurement log and tracks progress to ensure compliance with project schedule
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field
Two or more years of commercial construction experience
General Contractor work experience on a project exceeding $50 million
Proficient with MSOffice Suite, Primavera P6 and Procore
TIA preparation experience
Experienced in blueprint reading, construction scheduling and CAD
Previous experience as a field engineer or project engineer on commercial construction projects is preferred

What will you do?
Lead the design and development of AI-enhanced, highly scalable full-stack services that drive Ridgeline's workflow capabilities
Architect the next-generation Workflow Engine integrating AI reasoning, conditional logic, and parallel execution for dynamic business automation
Mentor and guide engineers through high-impact, cross-functional initiatives
Collaborate with product and design to deliver intuitive user interfaces that allow customers to configure, monitor, and evolve their workflows with AI insights
Optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and maintainability
Write high-quality code and tests, and provide thoughtful peer feedback through design and code reviews
Contribute to a culture of learning, ownership, and continuous improvement
Champion modern engineering practices including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, test automation, and AI-assisted observability
Desired Skills & Experience
8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of architecting and delivering full-stack solutions
Expertise in Kotlin (or Java), and experience with React
Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Familiarity with integrating AI/ML models-particularly LLMs, Tool Calling, RAG workflows, or AI Agents-into production systems
Strong understanding of system design, automated testing, and scalable architecture
Experience with event-driven architecture or distributed systems

Compensation and Benefits
The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including, the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.
The typical starting salary range for this role is: $174,500-$205,000.
The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed above is: $185,000-$220,000.
Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amount listed above.
