POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a skilled and motivated Battery Pack Design Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries, chargers, energy storage systems, and production solutions. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners to bring innovative products from concept through production. JOB FUNCTIONS Engage in all phases of the product development lifecycle: concept generation, quotation, design iteration, validation, and mass production. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, software, industrial design, purchasing, production, and quality. Develop mechanical solutions for battery pack enclosures, busbars, interconnects, and injection molded components Integration of PCBs, Sensors, and harnessing within mechanical constraints of the battery pack Define test plans and ensure design meets applicable standards (UL, IEC, UN38.3, ETC) Interface with external vendors, particularly for injection molding, to manage tooling, DFM feedback, and production timelines. Collaborate with operations to ensure design if manufacturable (DFM/DFA) Support the development of automated/semiautomated assembly process, jigs, fixtures and equipment. Lead and/or participate in the validation of internal and outsourced components and assemblies. Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on mechanical concepts, drawings, and designs. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, BOMs, and engineering records. Manage and execute the engineering change process, including documentation, revision control, and workflow integration. Provide technical guidance to internal teams and consultation to customers and suppliers. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required. MINIMUM ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE BSME with significant experience (DENG or MS favored). 3-7+ years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on electronics packaging and manufacturing. 5+ years of experience with CAD design in SolidWorks, including assemblies, surfacing, and simulation tools. Experience with DFMEA, APQP, design reviews and engineering documentation Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Assists with plans, coordination, and the quality control program as designed, to ensure continuous production of projects are consistent with established standards by performing the QCM duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Performs random project site audits for all stages in the production process and inspects materials for specifications and contract compliance.
