The junior designer is expected to apply standard design techniques under the clear direction of the lead designer or engineer. Tasks will have clear and specified objectives, but will require the investigation of a few variables to provide a design that will meet stated objectives. The incumbent is also required to meet design milestones agreed to with the lead designer or engineer. Documentation of each phase of the design project is required for internal use and transmittal to the customer. Technical competence is necessary for the incumbent to apply current industry accepted technology to meet the project objectives. The junior designer will be required to review the details of each completed task to ensure that his/her work is error free. The positions require working with a variety of industries, clients, and technical issues. The junior designer is required to track budgets for assigned tasks on each project to prevent the project from exceeding its budget.
