Job Description We are looking for a motivated individual to fill the role of ‘Project Engineer' for our Titusville, FL facility. The Project Engineer role is a full-time position and will be an integral team member supporting various Program engineering activities by providing project management support. This individual will direct, coordinate, and functionally head planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects of assigned responsibility. They will plan and formulate engineering efforts and organize project staff according to project/ program requirements. The Project Engineer will assign project tasking to specific phases or aspects of a project, such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing, in accordance with engineering disciplines of staff. Requirements: Job Responsibilities · Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. · Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems. · Directs integration of technical activities and products. · Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases. · Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget. · Prepares interim and completion project reports. · May have responsibility for technical direction of other lower-level project engineers or field engineers. · Implements government and commercial programs through a risk and oversight approach for all phases of project/program activities; identifies risks and problems, proposes solutions, and provides timely and accurate contract deliverables. · Responsible for the cost, schedule performance of assigned projects/programs. · Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. · Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. · Acts as one of the primary customer contacts for program activities, leading review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. · Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. · Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. · Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas. · May require some travel · Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications · Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering, other technical discipline or relevant work experience · 5+ years of relevant experience in Project Engineering/Management at an Engineering firm or as a Government Contractor · Experience managing and coordinating a team of administrators, engineers, and technicians · Project Management experience for a highly technical product OEM company · Experience with Radar/Sensor or other highly technical systems · Proven communication and presentation skills · Proficiency working with Microsoft Office, to include PowerPoint, Excel, Project and Word · Must be authorized to work in the United States · Ability to obtain & maintain a secret level clearance · A positive attitude with a flexible, can-do mentality · Self-starter and motivated to contribute to process improvements Clearance Qualifications · Must be able to obtain and maintain Security Clearance · Active Secrete Clearance or CV date within 5 years is desirable. What You Will Do * On any given day, as a Systems Engineer - Mechanical Analyst, you might: * Lead and contribute to technical projects focused on the simulation and analysis of animatronics and show systems. * Prepare models for rigid-body dynamic analyses (e.g. CAD preparation in SolidWorks defining system kinematics and dynamic properties). * Build and run rigid-body dynamic models for simulation (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink (Simscape Multibody). * Prepare reports, documentation, and presentation materials summarizing analysis results and communicating results to partners. * Collaborate with mechanical design teams, other analysts, and creative partners on the technical details of the simulations. * Work with our Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) and Facilities and Operational Services (FOS) partners to communicate requirements and results from system simulations. * Prepare proposals for stakeholders including scope of work, budgets, and schedules. * Track and advise project teams and leadership on project schedule and budget trends. * Support tool development for automation of analysis processes through coding, testing, and validation Required Qualifications & Skills * Here's what you need to be successful at this job: * Strong physics and mathematics academic background. * Proven ability to lead small analysis or simulations projects working independently or overseeing a small team of supporting engineers. * Proficiency in CAD Software (SolidWorks highly preferred). * Experience in dynamic modeling and simulation software (MATLAB/Simulink Simscape Multibody highly preferred). * Experience with scripting and programming in software languages such as Python or MATLAB. * Strong interest in systems engineering and software (automation, coding, and debugging). * Familiarity with both software and mechanical version control systems (Git, PDM, Upchain or similar tools).
