What You'll Do

Run FEA-based structural, vibration, and thermal studies to validate safety and performance.

Coordinate with architecture, electrical, and controls teams plus outside design firms to integrate your work into overall facility layouts.
Lead design-for-manufacture and continuous-improvement projects that boost throughput, reliability, and margins.
Provide on-site support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning at both Midwest and Southeast facilities (≈10-15 % travel).
Maintain CAD libraries, engineering change documentation, and best-practice design standards in the PLM system.

As a member of this engineering team, you will work in a lead role who is responsible for driving the mechanical design, system architecture, structural integrity, design documentation, manufacturability of battery packs to ensure that we follow entire product development cycle till successful launch. About the Role - You will:
Design high quality mechanical and electromechanical part and assembly designs efficiently and with good modeling practices
Develop cost effective, innovative and weight-optimized structural solutions to meet thermal, NVH, and crash safety requirements
Create and manage detailed engineering drawings/design data (3D and 2D), utilizing Catia 3DExperience (3DX) by applying a high standard of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Generate detailed DFMEA and DVP&R documentation
Responsible for the development of technical project plans and schedules covering engineering activities, meeting all design control and product development SOP requirements
Support the transition of designs from prototype to high-volume manufacturing, focusing on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
Mentor junior engineers and serve as a subject expert within the mechanicalengineering team

Partner with aerospace and defense customers to develop flight and structural control rod solutions
Review customer requirements and build‑to‑print designs for manufacturability
Develop cost models and support business cases for new opportunities
Create internal engineering drawings and technical proposals
Define test plans to qualify products to customer and industry standards
Support sales with technical expertise, presentations, and customer issue resolution
Collaborate with manufacturing on production‑related engineering issues
Contribute to new product development and intellectual property growth
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in MechanicalEngineering or a related field
Experience in mechanical design, drafting, or manufacturing methods preferred
