Documentation & Reporting • Prepare mechanical design documentation, test reports, analysis packages, and installation procedures. • Support design reviews, technical interchange meetings (TIMs), and customer technical audits. Collaboration & Technical Leadership • Work cross-functionally with electrical, software, manufacturing, and field service teams to deliver integrated maritime solutions. • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers. • Interface with shipyards, customers, and government stakeholders during design, production, and installation phases. Qualifications Education: • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related STEM field. Experience: • 3+ years of relevant experience in mechanical or systems engineering, preferably in maritime, defense, or shipbuilding industries. • Proficiency with CAD and modeling tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or AutoCAD). • Experience with FEA and thermal/structural analysis tools • Knowledge of materials selection, corrosion control, and environmental design for marine applications. • Understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and vibration/shock requirements in shipboard environments. Summary The Project Engineer supports field activities and spends a majority of time working with the Project Manager supporting project administration on multiple small projects, or one medium to large-size projects.
