Design and develop manufacturing processes for electrical and metal fabrication equipment, ensuring efficient production flow, adherence to quality standards, and optimization of resources. Identify, evaluate, and select appropriate machinery, tools, and equipment for manufacturing processes. Optimize equipment performance, maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Continuously improve manufacturing processes by implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other improvement methodologies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other methodologies. Identify and implement process enhancements, reduce waste, and optimize operations to increase productivity and quality. Develop and maintain comprehensive work instructions, procedures, and documentation for manufacturing processes. Standardize operations to ensure consistency, safety, and quality. Collaborate with the engineering team during the NPI phase to ensure the manufacturability and scalability of new electrical and metal fabrication equipment designs. Conduct cost analysis and cost reduction initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency while maintaining product quality and compliance with safety regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, procurement, and supply chain, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of manufacturing processes. Communicate effectively to convey technical information, provide updates, and address concerns. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety in the manufacturing environment. Identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks. Main Responsibilities • Develop new or more economical manufacturing technologies. • Identification and implementation of methods and practices to achieve operational improvements in efficiency, quality, delivery, and operating profits. • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards Provides technical information and recommendations concerning manufacturing techniques, materials, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and engineering planning. • Analyzes workforce space requirements, workflow, equipment layout, and workspace for maximum efficiency. • Determination of feasibility of purchasing new plant equipment or modifying existing equipment or facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors. • Preparation of capital expense request with justifications for purchase of capital equipment. • Manages multiple, parallel projects using proven project management techniques. • Attain Business Unit Metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Throughput). • Prepare the technical feasibility analysis of the use of new tools, programming, devices, or materials. • Identify improvements in productivity, quality and cost to meet internal KPIs using time studies, flow analysis and continuous improvement tools. • Coordinate the development and execution of action plans for resource optimization and waste reduction for labor, machines, tools and materials. • Designing production processes that maximize efficiency and reduce waste. • Coordinate process studies related to the launch of new product lines (develop and report about pilot batches). • Evaluate the proposed new tooling and materials for the manufacturing processes. • Follow up critical process capability analysis always aiming to implement and maintain good quality results. • Designing the layout of facilities and determining personnel requirements. • Training staff for new processes and creating standard operation procedures. • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the winding area, utilizing lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related discipline required. Experience in lieu of education may be considered. • 5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing engineering or similar capacity preferred. • Experience in to electric motors manufacturing process (specially winding, assembly and machining) strongly desired. • Familiarity with production planning software and ERP systems required. Prior SAP Experience preferred. • Experience with modeling and tooling software such as Autocad and SolidWorks for 3D modeling required. • Experience with machining and CAM required • Experience with PFMEA and Control Plans required • Experience with time studies and routing management • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma Experience helpful, but not required. • Strong working knowledge of office tools including; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint essential. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities required. • Must be able to frequently sit and/or stand for long periods of time. • Add availability to travel domestically and international
