The majority of MechanicalEngineering co-ops and interns enter into the following positions:
Area Refining Engineer/Project Engineers develop and use project management skills to create project scopes, estimates, and schedules. Once a project is developed and approved, you, as the project manager, will oversee the design effort and assist in the construction process. MPC will provide training and educational opportunities to help you develop your knowledge of other engineering disciplines. We are committed to developing engineers into professional project managers who can successfully manage projects of all sizes.
Reliability Engineers support the refinery's Maintenance Department through design and development of equipment related improvements. Such improvements include root cause failure analysis, optimization of maintenance programs in rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, etc.), and troubleshooting fixed equipment (refinery pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems, etc.). Reliability Engineers will also be continuously challenged to find new technology in design, materials and repair methods to achieve refinery goals of longer running times at lower costs.

Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Performs the detailed design and development of oxygen system components including regulators, valves, masks, and other aerospace oxygen components
· Develops technical solutions and manages component quality, mass, cost, and timing to meet program milestones. Broad scope of responsibilities includes oxygen components and systems.
· Responsible for working cohesively with a group of engineers responsible for similar products on other applications, actively engaging in team issue resolution.
· Capable of managing very broad or numerous projects with high degree of difficulty.

· Design, analysis, release, and test of parts and/or subsystems for production.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· BS degree in MechanicalEngineering or related program and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in aerospace valve and regulator design.
· CAD experience using Solidworks, Catia, or equivalent tools.
· Thorough knowledge of design, development and test engineering, manufacturing and assembly operations.
· Thorough knowledge of gas regulator and valve design fundamentals
· Familiarity with Aerospace Oxygen design specifications and requirements (MIL, ARP, AS, AIR, CGA, etc) and FAA and EASA regulations regarding oxygen system design.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· BS degree in MechanicalEngineering or related program and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in aerospace valve and regulator design.
· CAD experience using Solidworks, Catia, or equivalent tools.
· Thorough knowledge of design, development and test engineering, manufacturing and assembly operations.
· Thorough knowledge of gas regulator and valve design fundamentals
· Familiarity with Aerospace Oxygen design specifications and requirements (MIL, ARP, AS, AIR, CGA, etc) and FAA and EASA regulations regarding oxygen system design.
· Ability to manage multiple project assignments as well as identify and remove roadblocks.
· High level of understanding of robust engineering tools/methods, i.e. DFMEA, DVP&R
· Excellent analytical problem solving skills where problems are very unusual and challenging.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Detail oriented, self-motivated with a strong sense of personal ownership and a team attitude.
