The Raytheon Mechanical Engineering (ME) Organization leads the mechanical hardware design, development and production of radar, sonar, torpedo, and combat system equipment. The department is comprised of individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design, integration, and production support.
The ADGE department is looking for a full-time Mechanical Engineer II - Design Engineer, located in Tewksbury, MA (Onsite).
As a Mechanical Engineer II/Design Engineer you will support the design and development of rugged military electronics, transition product to production and provide sustainment support to operations and supply chain. You will participate as an integral member of a mechanical or cross functional team and will perform component/assembly modeling and documentation generation, release, and change incorporation. An explicit requirement of the MEII role is the growth of your design and problem-solving skills in support of product development and manufacturing.
This is an onsite role.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Design:
Investigate and resolve change requests from manufacturing or suppliers
Development of rework and/or modification procedures
Teaming/Communication:
Interface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges.
Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals.
Support and participate in design peer reviews, resolving action items, and conduct trade studies to make sound technical decisions.
Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
Qualifications You Must Have:
2 years Mechanical Engineering experience, preferably in the design of hardware for use in Military environments.
Experience with concept definition through detailed design, transition to production, and production support.
Experience with 3D CAD design tools and related product data management tools.

The Internship
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to contribute to our robot hardware development and testing group. The intern who joins our team will be responsible for the design, fabrication, ordering, and assembly of robotic systems and test spaces, including both structural and electromechanical components. Responsibilities include working closely across subject areas with team members to define project requirements and support project needs (e.g. rapid iteration on robot component designs, maintenance, and repair of robotic systems), and ensure the robotic lab remains safe, clean, and effective. The intern will also plan, execute, document, and communicate testing activities, providing clear and accurate reporting of test conditions and results. Qualifications

This position is a full time (40 hrs./week), **onsite** position with a competitive hourly pay rate and eligible for overtime pay. **This position will start May 2026 and go through Summer. Dates are flexible with school calendar.** Our hope is that the co-op students that are hired will do multiple co-op rotations with CMTA with possible consideration for full time employment upon graduation.
**Job Description:**
This position provides a unique opportunity for hands-on training in mechanical/HVAC/Energy design. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work well with a team, and independently. Our engineers will teach the student co-op how we design and implement mechanical systems/infrastructure and implement energy efficient measures in our building projects. This is a great opportunity to work on some of the most challenging and complex MEP projects, and become an important part of our design team.

How will I contribute?
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will work under the direction of an assigned mentor to develop and implement project deliverables. Mechanical Interns focus on the design and engineering of HVAC, mechanical utility, plumbing, fire protection, and other building support systems into the built work environment. Typical tasks and deliverables include load calculations, utility assessments, energy modeling, design reports, code evaluations, plans, schedules, installation details, specification and coordination with manufacturers and trade partners. Tasks will include utilizing computer aided drafting and engineering software.
Core Responsibilities
* Developing project documents (e.g., calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications, etc.) for clients in coordination with regulatory bodies and industry standards.
* Assisting with development of conceptual designs and coordinating with the design team under direction of the project team lead.
* Coordinating with multiple disciplines and other internal and external team members (e.g., vendors, clients, and contractors).

* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited program
* Available to work full-time during the internship period: May-August 2026
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
* Strong interest in the Food & Beverage or Life Sciences industries
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable insights
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines and with internal and external stakeholders (vendors, clients, contractors)
* Eagerness to learn about the AEC industry and apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering applications
* Willingness to relocate or work in one of CRB's internship locations, which may include:
Kansas City (MO), Raleigh (NC), Orange County (CA), Philadelphia (PA), St. Louis (MO), Boston (MA), San Diego (CA), Kalamazoo (MI), Denver (CO), and/or Rockville (MD)
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with HVAC systems strongly preferred

For college students interested in engineering design for the built environment, CMTA has a robust co-op program for students pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Architectural Engineering. We offer an opportunity for students to immerse themselves for one or more semesters in the consulting engineering world. Our co-ops build industry competitive skills in a hands-on environment, all while working on a team, and being trained by Professional Engineers in AutoCAD and Revit. The skills our co-ops learn allow them to create real construction drawings for real CMTA projects.
This position is a full time (40 hrs./week), onsite position with a competitive hourly pay rate and eligible for overtime pay. This position will start May 2026 and go through Summer. Dates are flexible with school calendar.
