Department Overview
The Mechanical Design team focuses on evaluating and developing project requirements at the initiation stage to formulate a comprehensive project plan, timeline, and budget, while integrating feedback from the cross-functional team to develop products.
Position Responsibilities
Design & develop mechanical system solutions based on engineering principles.
Utilize project management skills to track projects through all phases of design to production.
Support design decisions with analysis and calculations, as required.
Develop DFMEA and PFMEA's for products and solutions to minimize project risks.
Participate in peer-to-peer design reviews and provide critical feedback to colleagues.
Create and manage SolidWorks CAD models, drawings, and assemblies.
Manage top level assemblies in a PDM system environment.
Control drawing and model releases through the change control process.
Communicate with suppliers on a technical basis to ensure a quality product.
Coordinate with manufacturing operations to develop and implement DFM and cost reduction design actions.
Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
Ensure resulting design drawings/documents meet all Building, Construction and Mechanical code requirements.

WRA is currently looking for motivated civil engineering students to join our Transportation - Traffic team in our Wilmington, DE office. This is an excellent opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience working alongside our experienced traffic engineering team on a variety of transportation projects.
Responsibilities:
Assist engineers with traffic analysis, modeling, and simulation.
Support the preparation of traffic impact studies, signal design plans, and maintenance of traffic analysis.
Collect and analyze traffic and transportation data.
Perform fieldwork such as traffic counts, travel time studies, and site observations.
Apply engineering principles to develop solutions that enhance safety and mobility.
Collaborate with project teams and contribute to multidisciplinary transportation projects.
Requirements:
Must be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Strong interest in transportation and traffic engineering.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with traffic analysis software and CAD tools is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

The ideal candidate should be a Junior or Senior Level Student at an Accredited University and working towards a BS in Engineering. Prior experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software is a plus. The individual would be working with other experienced engineers, drafters, and/or designers in creating electrical drawing deliverables for substation design projects.
Education/Experience:
• Junior or Senior currently enrolled in an ABET accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering.
• Must have a minimum GPA of 2.8 or higher.
• 0-2 years. Previous internship is preferred, but not required.
