Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities Assist other network engineers with lifecycle replacement of older Nokia switch and router equipment throughout our nationwide network. Plan and coordinate wireless access point expansions. Create and update documentation and drawings of existing network structure and components. Ensure network device configurations are backed up and discoverable. Design and create projects for new fiber optic construction and to new and existing MidAmerican Energy facilities, including service centers and substations. Identify and test current network conditions and provide recommendations to ensure that the voice and data network infrastructure is positioned to meet business requirements. Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. Performance Expectations Perform responsibilities as directed within determined time frames and with a high degree of accuracy. Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department and the company. Maintain the professional competence, knowledge and skills necessary to effectively complete responsibilities; enhance job knowledge and abilities by taking personal responsibility for professional development and training. Maintain sensitive and confidential information regarding company information. Attend work on a regular basis and support the company's employee policies and procedures, including workplace safety rules. Ensure all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understand and comply with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
