Role and responsibilities
As a Summer Intern in Mechanical Design Engineering, you will participate in developing portions of the lithography system and/or associated tooling. You will work on sub-systems involving robotics, mechatronics, precision mechanics, and/or opto-mechanics. Precision machine design at ASML starts with understanding the functional requirements and deriving specifications. You will collaborate with design engineers and system architects in a multidiscipline project team to develop concepts, perform engineering analysis, build and test prototypes, generate detailed CAD designs, create engineering drawings, partner with suppliers, and support system integration and testing.
This position is located on-site in Wilton, CT. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
Education
Candidate towards a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 2 years completed.
The hired candidate must have ability to communicate effectively in the English language both written and oral.
Experience
We are seeking an individual with a strong background in mechanical design and engineering. A background in mechanical design of mechatronics, precision design, or complex optical systems is desirable, as well as good complex mechanical system intuition.
Preferred skills for this job include:
Mechanical design exposure to kinematics, dynamics, material properties and behavior, and structural analysis.
Experience with 3D solid modelling for design conceptualization and realization.
Basic experience with mechanical analytical techniques, including “first principle” engineering equations and Finite Element Analysis such as stress, strain, deformation, modal response, etc.

Responsibilities

Position Purpose:
Under the direction of the Manager Engineering - Lead Program & Special Projects, the Associate Engineer - Lead Program will be assisting in the construction delivery for the Lead Service Line Replacement Program.
This engineer will provide support to the Manager Engineering - Lead Program & Special Projects for the delivery of the $36M 2023 lead service line replacement program, which will result in the annual replacement of 2,600 service lines.
More specifically, the engineer will be provide assistance with work order management, data compilation, analyzing data to generate metrics on a weekly basis, and will assist in response to field-related matters including materials releases, acquisition of information from GIS, and invoice review to ensure appropriate billing.
Incumbent will also generate proper documentation for work order creation and closure. This engineer will provide the assistance needed to the Manager to ensure the successful and quality construction delivery of the LSLR Program.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Use of company resources including Hexagon, GIS, Google applications, and other electronic applications. This person may be required to perform inspections of new installations or other duties as assigned.
Responsible for the generation of weekly metrics, review and closing of work orders, work order generation, and interfacing with contractors, internal departments, and customers for the efficient and quality delivery of the lead service line replacement program.
Conduct field visits to confirm location of any existing facilities as required.
Field supervision of construction projects.
Work with other departments including Operations, Water Quality, and Customer Service.
Assist engineers in developing analysis and reports to be provided to regulators, internal or external customers as required.
Maintain Key Performance Indicators to track performance and productivity.
Work Environment:

The salary for this role is $22-$27/hour. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
